Dallas/Indiana ....

Post#1 » by mffl_14 » Thu Jul 10, 2008 5:35 am

Ok so here's my new idea
Josh Howard, Jerry Stackhouse, & Eddie Jones for Danny Granger, Jamal Tinsley, & Troy Murphy

The reason why the Pacers do it, they want to get rid of Tinsley and get a replacement in Howard for Granger and the Stackhouse & Jones contracts will be up soon as they are in rebuild mode.

The positive reasons for us Danny Granger is younger and could take Josh's place, we have a back up point guard behind Kidd besides Barea, and get another solid backup PF in Murphy in which you could use him or Bass to pick up any other assets we might need. Plus I'm thinking we could either resign George so we have decent back up SF or sign and trade him and Wright for Azibuike to get a better shooter on the team.

Kidd/Tinsley/Barea
Terry/*Azibuike/Foster
Granger/Green
Dirk/Bass/Murphy
Damp/Diop

Ok let me have it lol

1. I dont think there's any way IND trades Granger for Howard, even if they get rid of Tinsley in the process.

2. Azibuike wont be coming here in all liklihood.

I don't think the difference btwn Howard and Granger is worth all the sallary we assume in this trade.

What about taking on Tinsley and Azubuike in the same deal?
Dallas trades:
Stack & George (S&T $3.5037 mil) to Indy
Indy trades:
Tinsley & Shawne Williams to Dallas
'09 pick to GSW
GSW trades
Azubuike (S&T $3.4884 mil) to Dallas

Indy gets salary relief in time for the ever important '10 FA class (George could have a non-guaranteed third year of the deal)
GSW gets a pick for Azubuike who might be expendable with the coming of Maggette.
Dallas fills out a roster with a possible starting SG, a backup SF, and a backup PG capable of spelling Kidd major minutes.

IF Azubuike is willing to sign for less than 3 mil, then Dallas could insert Jones instead of George
10:20 (pm, 6/29/06) The Mavs take Maurice Ager at No. 28... Ager walks up to the stage in a triple-breasted, oversized beige suit, goes to shake hands with Stern and immediately gets whistled for a foul on Dwyane Wade.

I can see their management looking to dump Murphy and Tinsley.
But their fans won't feel the same.

I don't see Cuban willing to take the salary AND the luxury tax either.
He is not as generous as he used to be since 2002. He concerns more about his pocket now.

If we can't get Ron Artest for the package, let's try S-Jax for Stack straight up.
I'd throw in a second pick for purpose.

I would rather take on salary to fill positions of need and getting decent quality back as well since we are already way over the cap and dont have a lot of depth. Plus you could probably turn some of these guys around for other assets and if not by the time all these contracts are up we will have draft picks finally and cap room. But oh well I must be getting a little better didn't seem to get as ripped on this one lol.

Well, it's a lateral move.

Josh Howard and Danny Granger play the same way. They're not so different.
Troy Murphy can score. Jamaal Tinsley can slash. But that's expensive for their salaries.

Indy is not going to trade Granger for Howard. Not after all the off the court problems they have had.

They can just buy out Tinsley to get rid of him if needed.

Tinsley will sign for the Vet Minimum and backup Kidd. Terry will be listed as a SG again.

There is no match between these 2 teams and Granger is not worth the money of those two guys.
