Camby/Atkins/2 1st's for S&T Felton/Okafor

I'm not looking to get people upset - if it doesn't work out for you, just tell me. I'm trying to make the trade fair by adding the first rounders....

I think that's pretty good... I don't think most people will say yes, because of Camby's unreliability and age, but I think it's good value. Personally I wouldn't do it... I just don't see where we'd be going with Camby, only the first rounders would carry over more than a couple seasons, and Atkins is a throw-in.

Well, that's what I thought as well - why would Charlotte want to do this? My thoughts are that you have a decent starting lineup (augustin, JRich, Wallace, May, Camby) which may not get you into the playoffs, but gives you a LOT of flexibility to build in the future - and you're already going to have some hefty future contracts with Morrison and Wallace. Add it to your current first rounders, that gives you enough flexibility to go after a Marion-type player next year...and that's when you'll really see the difference. Camby's a reasonable contract for the type of player he is, and yes, Chucky was thrown in just to get the salaries closer...but can you imagine if you were able to get Marion in FA, you'd have Marion, Wallace, JRich, augustin, camby?

Camby's health is always a concern, but he's played at least 70 games for the nuggs for a couple of years and is one of the better centers in the league. Former DPOY. Salary wise, he's reasonable....

I just know you don't want to lose Okafor in free agency, and you'll have to pay hefty bucks to keep him - and next year, there is a ton of talent in FA. I just think while it may not benefit you in the short term, in the long term it makes sense. Plus gives you a vet to pair with Augustin, who's your PG of the future.....

For us, it gives us a VERY young nucleus in Felton, JR Smith, Melo, Nene, Okafor. Of course, from my standpoint, that's the team I'd want....plus, since we're already in salary cap hell, it wouldn't matter if we added a few more million to the payroll....

Paydro you're unreal.....no way that's pretty good. You've shot down so many fair trades and now you say you like this. Camby is 46 yrs old and what kind of players will you get with those low 1st rd picks. One of them is ours anyways. So you're talking about Camby, Atkins, a Damion James, and a Lester Hudson. Those are two guys in next year's mock.....just using them as an example.

Camby's 33. And actually, given his past injuries in NY, he's got less wear and tear than you think. He's been healthy for us....besides, I'd think more along the lines of using your picks to secure an all-star caliber player, and there are many FA's next year who fit that bill.....

Well Cash... A) I don't think Emeka is much better than Camby, if at all, B) Neither team's guaranteed to make the playoffs, meaning this could be a pair of lottery picks, C) Emeka might be leaving for nothing.

As I said, I wouldn't really want to do this, because Camby is going to be gone quickly, but on the other hand, it will give us an expiring, competent player soon, and again, those might be lottery picks. Sure maybe it's some guys I don't really know about yet (maybe those guys are great?), or maybe it's the equivalent of Eric Gordon AND Brook Lopez.
