Oklahoma City ThunderCats

Post#1 » by CarolinaCash » Thu Jul 10, 2008 7:34 pm

WTF? That's a lot worse than the Bobcats. It sounds like an Arena football team. The 2012 NBA title game...the Bobcats vs the Thundercats.

I'll believe it when I see it on a jersey. Oklahoma City Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (my suggestion), was too long, I take it.

No update to their official web page ... and I think that they would have it there too.

We were almost the Charlotte Flight or Dragons.... I guess Thundercats is even 100x worse than those. I'm actually still surprised Flight didn't win.

Man I liked the Dragons ... but I did feel that it was a bit silly and that Flight was probably the better choice. I never even seriously considered that Bobcats might be the actual choice back then.

I'm OK with the name now but I still hate Rufus with all my being.

Those Orlando announcers are really (Please Use More Appropriate Word) but funny sometimes....Thundercats?

These are some that I like.

Oklahoma Sexuals
Oklahoma Oil Men, Logo = Milkshake

Before the first game they can play a clip from the movie speaking to the city of Seattle saying "I drink YOUR milkshake, I drink it up!!"

Fats, I love the alien idea. It fits us because it took people a long time to know that we existed. HA!

ThunderCats though?

geez, even the D-League would pass on that name.

ThunderCats, eh. I guess some poor graphic artist somewhere is going to get the unenviable task of making a logo for THAT.....thingy.

My favorites would have been: Oklahoma City Outlaws, Oklahoma City Tornadoes, or Oklahoma City Stampede. But then, those make too much sense.

I'm guessing if there are Raptors at Toronto then there can be Thundercats in Oklahoma City. I like something that fits the area of the town. Outlaws, Tornadoes and Stampede sounds good. Cowboys sound even better but Oklahoma State University already has that name.

Just back from the OKC board- To behold what their graphic arts department came up with. They are the Thunder. They euthanized their cats. Their logo is largely described as a variation of the New Jersey Nets logo- with a mixture of our colors (dominant blue and orange) and Denver's primary sky blue as a secondary color.

Oh, and everybody on their board is ripping the logo for looking like an eighth grader threw it together at the last minute. So much for the graphic arts guys!

Slightly OT- If Hurricane Gustav had hit New Orleans with force, and they had to play elsewhere, where would they have gone? Seattle? Claw....on....Bobcats!

I don't care what everybody thinks...."Thundercats" would have been awesome. Thank god such a disgrace of a team is not blessed with that name.
