I was glad to hear last night that he officially signed. So we at least we have a point guard, but we still have more work to do this off season.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

I think we did most of our Baron celebrations when he verbally agreed to the deal, but nonetheless...WELCOME BARON!!

Welcome Home, Bearded One.

I believe a great PG will take a team far, just look at Nash, Paul, D-Williams, even Cassell 2 years ago. I really hope it holds true for us. :D

To the man that changed the game. They said it wasn't possible to catch an inbound pass, turn and shoot in 0.7 seconds. Welcome Baron...to the man that does the impossible.

To tell you the truth, I'm way more excited about the Baron signing than I am pissed about the Brand betrayal. Davis is a tremendous addition to this team. Let's just cross our fingers that he stays healthy because he is a unique talent. Now if we can only snag Okafor. IMO the team with Baron/Okafor may be better than the team with Baron/Brand. Let's face it Brand was one of the greatest 1st quarter players in NBA history and one of the worst 4th quarter players. He very, very rarely came through in the clutch and was prone to choking in big-game situations (poor passes out of the double-team, badly gagging on FTs, missing wide-open shots, etc. ). He is also coming off a really bad injury. For what its worth, Bill Simmons said (after acknowledging Brand's strengths - good open 15 foot shooter, good rebounder, good shot blocker) that he never thought Brand was that great player because 20 & 10 for a guy who plays 40 minutes per game isn't that great an accomplishment.

On NBA.com, I think if you click the article there's a link.
EDIT: The link is on the homepage.

The nba.com clip was only a minute long but I'm liking Baron's attitude. Seeing his enthusiasm is making me feel better after being played by Gutless #42.

I heard an interview with BDiddy earlier today, and the great thing is that he was pretty casual about the whole Elton thing and was happy to be back home still.

He said he and Elton were good friends and talk a lot, but that there was no pre-arranged deal or anything like that. He said that in the recent weeks there was a lot of pressure on Elton to do this or that, and that he needed some time to pull back and decide what he really wanted to do.

If that's the case, then I'm with Dunleavy- if you changed your mind about where you wanted to go, that's fine it happens, but just say you changed your mind. And then everyone goes on with no hard feelings, really.

I'm with you, man. I'm more excited about getting Baron Davis than I am being pissed at Benedict Brand. Don't get me wrong...I think Brand is absolute trash now but Davis is the best FA signing in Clippers history.

For once, we're going to have a franchise player that is exciting to watch and isn't afraid to take the pressure shots. I liked rooting for Brand because he was effective (until it came time to be the man...then he just folded like an accordion) but he's not exactly the most exciting player in the world. Brand is not a winner, either. For all the years that he's been averaging 20/10 he's only been in the playoffs once. Baron has been in the playoffs 6 times out of 9 years.

If Dunleavy allows Davis to do his thing and run more than going into a halfcourt set, Kaman, Thornton and Gordon are going to benefit big time in transition. I just hope he stops feeding it into the post 90% of the time now that Brand isn't here anymore.

This is now the Baron Davis era and this team goes as far as he can take them.

I honestly don't think Dunleavy is the right coach for Baron, he calls way too many set plays. Baron is at his best in when the pace is up tempo basketball.
