"Ignite the Passion, Restore the Pride"
That's the new ad slogan for the Pacers this year. I like it, it's catchy.

I like it. At least this year they dont have to market Jim O'Brien...we actually have players that the fans like!

A third, more mundane but necessary addition:
Sustain the energy.
We as fans have been known for our optimism. In the past, we still rooted for the Pacers in the worst of times. However, this last season has been ridiculous. Every game started with some positives, but the Pacers were prone to the "snowball" effect.
The attendance reflected this on a larger scope. The season started out with some awesome victories, and a winning streak that got everyone pumped. Then, little by little, everything started slipping away.

Re: "Ignite the Passion, Restore the Pride"
My expectations have been low for this team for a while now. Two years ago I thought this team underachieved because they were lazy, took plays off and were apathetic, which drove me nuts. Last years team played hard and gave a good effort, but were just not that talented, which I don't love, but can live with. I think they did exceed the expectations of Las Vegas and all the national publications, which not a lot of teams can say. Once we get droopy out of here we will have a young, energetic team with decent players and good citizens. I know I will be on board with this, and hopefully the Pacers can grow, but we will have to see.

I like it. Of course, a catchy saying isn't going to win fans back. It's going to start on the court, and it will be sustained if they stay out of trouble.

You never know. Maybe we would've gotten more attendance last couple years if we'd gone with it....you know, OJ-on-the-cover-of-Newsweek (or Time) type pictures of glowering Pacers with the following tagline:
We know where you live. Don't make us come get you.

Ok...maybe not. At least it would've been proactive.
I have no idea what you're talking about, and clearly, neither do you.

That actually probably would've gone over better then the "It's up to us" fiasco of two seasons ago where a week and a half later, Club Rio happened. Boy was that the Titanic of public relations.

I am legitimately excited for the first time since November 18th, 2004.
And I think a majority of you guys feel the same way, but PR07 and Count55 have it right.
