WOW. Dunleavy gets text from E Brand...This is from Mike Dunleavy's own mouth in an interview on 710 I just heard, obviously Mike and Elton are tight...Text to Dunleavy from E Brand...Get me BD and 75, Done. That's what the LAC did and Falk meddled for another re-up. Damn.

Cheer up LAC fans, you are going to get a much younger, more athletic, blocking slasher stud, non-injury prone Josh Smith soon, you'll be better off.

It will be interesting to hear the response. Since this is a straight out factual 'this was the exact text message I got', I believe Dunleavy is telling the truth.

What was the Clippers' response to that? Did they offer him $75, or did they offer $70 (along with the alleged 'Donald doesn't feel comfortable paying you this much' thing)? I think it's pretty simple:

If EB asked for 75 and then the Clippers offered 75 right there and then, then I put it on Elton (obviously).

If EB asked for 75 and then the Clippers offered 70 and insinuated 'take it or leave it', then I put it on the Clippers (even if they upped their offer after the other offers.)

I listened to the same interview on 710 ESPN. Highlights that I can remember:

-EB asked Dunleavy for three things - 5 yr/$75 million, early termination option, help (Baron) in conversattions and via text message. Dunleavy texted back, "I'll get it done." In the morning, follow up text from Dunleavy, "done." The way he spoke on the radio it sounded like he was quoting verbatim from his phone.

-Dunleavy saw text message from Elton to other players to the effect that EB and B-diddy were all on board.

--Falk was pissed once he found out there were direct dealings without his knowledge and steered Elton to the Sixers in response.

-As for the DTS's reluctance to offer a big contract and the ultimatum - Dunleavy said Falk asked for $120+ million, the Clippers balked saying that he was coming off injury and that if he wanted to play out his contract and proved healthy, DTS had no problem giving up that money next year. Falk stood firm and the Clippers said either opt out or don't opt out. The Clips even entertained trades but nothing good was offered.

-All Dunleavy wanted to hear (and never heard from the man) was that Elton changed his mind and preferred to play elsewhere.

Falk was on earlier but I missed it. Based on the feedback commentary, it sounded like Falk spouted out the same lowballing/insult/bumbling spin. Commentators noted how strange it was that Falk's been doing all the talking at starting with the third question of the press conference and ever since.

Forgot to add that on the topic of Josh Smith/FA targets, Dunleavy said they were taking their time through the weekend to evaluate their options.

Brand is an a-hole if you believe what Dunleavy is claiming. Falk was asking for $120 million up front from the Clippers which is ridiculous. Dunleavy said Elton Brand came to HIM and offered to settle with the Clippers for $75 million if they can sign Baron Davis. He said everything Brand wanted, he got him. Falk just got pissed at the Clippers for going over his head with Brand and steered him toward Philly. If this is true, Brand really is just a puppet.

David Falk is the devil and Brand is just an empty shell.

brand was on PTI today and basically said that the warriors and sixers offered him everything they possibly could and the clippers didn't. by the time they did, it was too late.

This is true but that's not the issue. The issue has more to do with his character and honesty than what the Clippers could or couldn't offer. Of course the Clippers could offer him more. But Dunleavy is saying Brand initiated the $70 million dollar deal and said he would take if they could sign Davis. They did and Falk told Brand to bail on that.

Woah, just listened to Dumbleavy talk about the EB and Falk situation, and with the way he talked he was straight forward and EB and Falk not saying anything like this to the public, I'm starting to agree with the Clipps on this side of the story.

^ CD, I just heard Dunleavy on ESPNEWS, and dude sounded on fire. He was pissed, but like we've said ALL he wanted to hear was Brand tell the truth and say-- "yeah we had an agreement, but I changed my mind." The more info that comes out, the more Brand looks like an a**hole.
