Better Complement: Shaq or Jermaine?

Post#1 » by Malinhion » Thu Jul 10, 2008 7:14 pm

Which O'Neal is the better piece to pair with another rising frontcourt star?

Consider them at this stage in their career, injury history and all.

As we all know, both of these players were traded to playoff teams in the past few months, where they were looked to to supplement the defense and toughness of two athletic, rising frontcourt players in Amare and Bosh.

Shaq for the Suns = Failure..

But I don't know if I'd want J.O on the suns either...

Crap, this was supposed to go on the PC board.

Shaq has been doing well with Amare. Not necessarily excelling himself, but Shaq has been drawing a lot of attention and Amare's numbers experienced a significant spike. Diesel also played much better on the Suns than he did on the Heat all season, clearly a product of effort when you look at the difference in rebounding.

Interesting question. I think Shaq would be a better compliment in Toronto and Jermaine with the Suns due to style. Ironic.

I think Shaq on the suns made them worse. JO could help Bosh a lot if he stays healthy. Have to wait and see.

Even though Shaq is still a beast I don't think he compliments Amare as well as JO compliments CB. The reason is Amare loves to dunk on people's head (even though he can hit a jumper) and Shaq can't play outside of 3 feet from the basket. With JO and CB you got two guys who can go inside out which will help both of them. However, they still haven't played together outside of an All-Star game so we'll have to wait and see.

JO, because of his shooting and defense.

JO complements players like Bosh very well because of his defence and inside-outside game that opens up the floor for Bosh and will take away all double teams.
