Official Rodney Carney (AKA Dunkz Hawd) Appreciation Thread

Post#1 » by eyeatoma » Wed Jul 9, 2008 5:39 am

I'm ecstatic to see that ED was able to do a fantastic job in signing Elton Brand with the Sixers. That being said, I'm pretty disappointed that Carney had to be sacrificed to get him. If Willie was traded instead of Carney, this team would be a lot closer to a championship. Not saying we're not right now, but suddenly we're a little weak in depth at the SF position.

Rodney was able to overcome his slow start, and his tendency to jack shots up by coming back strongly in the last 2 months of the season. He showed the ability to hit the open 3, was an aggressive defender, and of course drove the lane with abandon and DUNKZZZ HAWWD!!! Rodney now has the ability to build on the improvements he made last season, and give the Timberwolves a valuable sixth man that can be paired with the burgeoning youth movement thats underway in Minnesota...

Here's to you Rodney, going to miss Knux Future's Carney recaps...

Cheers! Good luck in Minnesota

I'm still waiting for the Calvin Booth appreciation thread.

I'm sure thousands of kittens appreciate that they will no longer be sacrificed at the alter of ugly Booth shots.

Seriously, props to Ed, and thanks to KK, Booth, Carney and that Utah #1 player to be named later that made it possible to land Brand.

Oh, and thank you Sterling for letting the Clippers be, well, the Clippers.

Knux Future is a witty young gentleman, I'm sure he'll figure some way to work a new arrival into the post game recap.

That said, I was quite fond of DUNKZZ HAAWWD!

Appreciated his athleticism...would have loved to appreciate his production, but I just never saw it. Do think he started to show signs last season, but to get a player like Brand, you do need to give up something of value.

as a wolves fan i am ecstatic that booth, brian cardinal, jason collins, and mark madsen could potentially be in the same frontcourt, and at the very least create a game of HORSE that will question anybody's fanhood.

Neither player should have any appreciation thread. The kittens can sleep well at night knowing Booth is gone and Carney don't let the door hit you on the back end on your way out.

LOL j/k

I totally agree with you. I wanted Carney traded last season, and it happened. Now if Willie Green could find a suitor....

I wish he and Booth the best of luck in Minnesota though..

I totally appreciate Carney's inclusion in the deal that allowed PHI to make the deal for Brand.

 as a wolves fan, that gave me a good chuckle...happily they will be behind Al Jefferson and Kevin Love in the depth charts (and in a couple years Nikola Pekovic). Heck depending on the outcome of free agency, they could even be behind Craig Smith and Ryan Gomes and possibly Chris Richard.
Thriving on mediocrity since '89.

Ahh I'll miss ol DUNKZ HAWD.......and with that here my ode to Carney...

What a year it was in 2006
for the frist time in ever we has a draft pick.
Whilre Bk couldn't sign dudes to save his life.
He drafted with such strife

Looking at the the propects were we sat.
we all said that Ronnie Brewer was were it was at.
We was atletic and could play d.
If we we had pick it would be good for me.

BUT then came the the faithful draft night.
Brewer should've been the pick, I knew Billy would pick him despite....
I had a very uneasy feeling inside me that wish wasn't true..
for i has actually fear what King might do.

Our came and picked a guy named Thabo..
I was ready to go ship BK to Cabo.
Hadn't he learned from that bum ER! Image
I was going t drown my sorrows in a bar..

BUT Then a trade came over the speakers.
Alas there was hope, so i took off my Sneakers
I once was deader than Jim Varney...
But then we pick Dunkz Hawd Carney!

At first I was quite happy..
Outside of Dala, our swing were quite crappy.
Carney dunk, run, and supposedly shoot.
I was quite sure we gotz some phat loot.

However as the years went by.
Carney kinda sucked, and I didn't know why?
This gusy was supposed to do many thing.
I had thought he would bring us a ring.

A year past and we got a new rookie.
AI was gone a the new one wanted one to many cookie
Carney was now only a star in the the summer league.
He was the new John Salmons and that made me peeved.

The year wnet on a we struggled out the gate.
Carney could only see dissaster in his wake.
He airball shots, and even a dunk
This due rite hurr was in quite a funk.

Finally he just realized
I'm not a true number one you guys.
So he looked for a new calling card.
Carney decided that he would DUNKZHAWD!

With a leap and quickness he played.
the best moment of the year is when he owned Wade Image.
No longer would he make us be mean..
Now we focused our hate on Mr. Green.

Alas, his time here has come to a end.
And while he didn't do much to get us our win.
Carney will always be a favorite of mine.
I will remeber his Hawd dunkz all the time.

He might not had turned out like I planned Image
but ****, this dude di help us get Elton Brand.
Carney many never be seen again.
But he will DUNKZ Hawd once more my Friend.

Knux for GLOBAL MOD!

hahaha! nice one Knux!

The T-wolves are pretty lucky to acquire Rodney Carney. That boy's got serious talent and potential. I can remember C-webb said that to watch out for Rodney Carney because he's going to be a special player in the league. And I think that with the right training, he's really going to be a special player in the league.

Im really sad to see him go, especially with the addition of brand, he would really fit at the SG position. He is a perfect glue guy in a championship team "ala bruce bowen." I can also compare him to a more promising but less basketball IQ version of Eddie Jones during his young days with the Lakers.

Anyway, Godbless to Rodney Carney. We'll surely miss him! :D
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.
