Utah has been the definition of consistent over the last 25 years. They made the playoffs EVERY year Malone and Stockton were in Jazz uniforms. They have the longest tenured coach in professional sports history and one losing season since Sloan took over. After 3 years of missing the playoffs recently, they're back to being a WC mainstay. May not have the championships but for their players to remain relatively injury free as well as making the playoffs as many years as they have, their one of the more successful franchises in the NBA. Top 15 for sure, top 10 maybe. Remember this is a franchise that didn't think would last long in SLC and was too poor to change the team name. They also had to sell the number one pick to the Lakers the year Magic Johnson was drafted and drafted Dominique Wilkins (who refused to play in Utah). Had they been able to keep those players with John and Karl Utah would not be looking for their first championship....IMO

why not just make the sonics or Blazers #'s 9 & 10 Why Combine them?? Just because they are both in the pacific northwest? They are not the same franchise? But what do I expect from someone that puts 3th instead of 3rd!

1. Celtics- honestly i don't see a case for the lakers being better
2. Lakers-they are still a pretty damn good franchise :P
3. Bulls
4. Rockets
5. Spurs
6. 6ers
7. Blazers
...

after the first 3 i think it gets pretty tough

as for the bottom five, well unfortunately my mavericks belong without question. THE worst franchise in professional sports in the 90's. As much hate as he gets and a lot of which he deserves, Mark Cuban is one of the best owners in the history of professional sports.

The raptors had a way better ownership than the grizzlies. MLSE bought the raptors before Carter came to the Raptors. No way Raptors were even goin to leave town with the owner of the leafs owning the raptors.

The grizzlies owner sucked balls. Heisley's plan when he bought the Grizzlies was to move them to Memphis, like Clay Bennett, not thinking about the fans in the city.

Unlike the Grizzlies, ownership of the Raptors were always in the hands of Canadians.

If you look at all time with championships, playoff success, money making ability, etc, I would have to rank them like this:

Lakers (They have never really been bad. They have always had their nose in the door and because they make way more money then the Celtics, I have to put them on top.
Celtics
Bulls
Spurs
Pistons
Blazers
76er's
Rockets
Knicks
Warriors

Worst:
Raptors
T-Wolves
Bobcats (They haven't done anything, and therefore, I can't put them ahead of anyone but these two)
Clippers
Grizzles(Easily the worst franchise in the league. They sell players for nothing, are in a city which doesn't support the team at all, they have never won a playoffs game, never really competed at a high level outside of a few of the Gasol years and is one of the worst profitable teams in the league)

1. San Antonio- They are always contenders
2. Detroit- See #1
3. Utah- A great coach, solid core, and one of the deepest rosters with potential.
4. LA Lakers- Another great coach, the best player in the game, and they are close to a 'ship.
5. Portland- What a turnaround. Should be an eventual contender over the next decade.
6. Boston- Yes they just won it all, but I feel a short lived honeymoon for the big three.
7. New Orleans- When healthy they can run with anyone and have one of the best coaches today.
8. Dallas- If Rick Carlisle can right the ship this the Mavs are a top 5 franchise with their talent.
9. Toronto- Colangelo has worked magic, but there are still questions.
10. Houston- Getting Scola was key, and now with Adelman at the helm and a healthy Yao it could get interesting.
- On the bubble: Phoenix and Orlando

25. Minnesota- Forfeitted draft picks, losing KG for next to nothing, having a franchise in Minny, etc.
26. Sacramento- They have 400 undersized power forwards, Ron Artest and an inexperienced coach.
27. Milwaukee- Hiring Skiles and changing GM's are positive moves, but they are still a mess.
28. Memphis- A franchise that has never gotten out of the first round of the playoffs.
29. New York- The Mecca of basketball, really?
30. LA Clippers- Kudos to Donald Sterling.
- On the bubble: Chicago and Seattle

But it should be.

This shared history crap bugs the hell out of me. I hate Seattle's government. Hopefully the kinks can be worked out on Aug. 1st that lets us have our history, stats, and accomplishments SOLELY to ourselves for if/when a new team comes to Seattle.

People are really forgetting the consistent success both the Hawks and the Bucks have had.

are we just looking at the success of the team as far as win/loss? If that's the case it's easily decided by just looking at rings and win percentages throughout the team's history.

If we're talking money and what team you'd like to buy then there is no way Spurs are even in the top ten. That team has been a monster for years now, but still doesn't make much money. They've been blessed with good players , good coaching, ETC If i'm looking to buy a team they are pretty close to the bottom of the list.

 What are you basing this on? Really, I would like to know. As far as players are concerned, even if the Raps kept Jamison, you're telling me that would have been the start of the Raps leaving T.O.?

Toronto is owned by a very stable private corporation, which also owns the ACC. Lets not forget the city is one of the biggest markets in N. America. It must be the fans not going to the games then? Oh wait, that cant be it...

Sure, after the infamous dunk contest Vince put the Raptors on the map. But there is no indication the Raps would be out of T.O. Really, how did you come to this conclusion?
"I definitely knew he traveled, but I didn't know they were going to call it. That was one of them situations in which a great player made a move...and they called the call. And I was like, 'Oh, man, there is a God.'

I'd go with this list although I'd say the Pistons and Spurs are a toss-up. The Spurs have one more championship but the Pistons make a lot more money and are worth more.

3. Chicago Bulls – 6 championships
4. San Antonio Spurs – 4 championships
5. Detroit Pistons – 3 championships
6. Philadelphia 76ers – 3 championships
7. Golden State Warriors – 3 championships
8. Houston Rockets – 2 championships
9. New York Knicks – 2 championships
10. Washington/Baltimore Wizards/Bullets – 2 championships as well as being two different franchises

26. Toronto Raptors – lack the history of other franchises but will likely move up this type of list soon.

28. Minnesota Timberwolves – Kevin Garnett and nothing else so far …
29. Vancouver/Memphis Grizzlies – 13 seasons, 2 different countries, only the Bobcats stop this team from being last
30. Charlotte Bobcats – 4 years of existence
