Summer League Thread

Post#1 » by Ravi » Fri Jul 11, 2008 12:49 pm

I remember last year we had a pretty decent thread going for summer league.

Of course last year our big FA signing was Calvin Booth.....

Anyway the Las Vegas Summer League starts today. We are playing against the Warriors at 4 ET.

We're not going to be on TV but there is a NBA web telecast.

Website: http://www.nba.com/summerleague2008/

I look forward to seeing how speights, young, smith, gordon, and caroll are doing.

Im pretty curious to see how Young handles being the go-to guy. Last year alot of his scoring was on putbacks and hustles plays I'd like to see him hit a few from deep.

Jason Smith also attempted a few 3 pointers last year. Maybe he has improved into a reliable threat?

From what I've read Gordon is pretty good. Maybe he can make the team if noone else is acquired. Although can he shoot?

Hopefully Pat Caroll can make it in the NBA like his brother did.

I forgot about Edin Bavcic and Jawann McClellan. Anyone else worth paying attention to?

I think Young is going to absolutely light up Summer league with Lou not there this year to possess the ball. Also interested to see how Gordon pans out and if Smith can dominate a bit.

I would be interested to see how Callistus Eziukwu performs - we brought him in to workout twice pre-draft, and the measurements seem intriguing. We could always use a project big man with Herb Hill too busy drinking and driving.

He isn't a great shooter. His main strengths are size, strength, rebounding, passing, defense, and driving to the hole. His main weaknesses are turnovers, shooting, and decision making.

He's an average FT shooter but he usually hits them in clutch situations.

Thad scores first basket... I think. It keeps freezing and I can't see much. Can't even tell who's on the court.
