If the pistons offer RIp and Sheed... Morey has to think about it.

I'd rather just keep McGrady.

Look, Pistons fans seem to be excited about getting McGrady for a bunch of their players.

If Detroit is excited, that probably means we aren't. Dumars knows your window is closed, of course he's trying to get rid of guys. Trust me, Morey's the anti-sucker, you'd rather deal with Jerry West. Very, very unlikely anything happens with the Pistons (read: odds are on par with Russia invading the U.S. with a squadron of grizzly bears with frickin' lasers mounted on their heads sometime early next month)

Was there any doubt?
Morey 2020.

This rumor still going on...don't see it helping the Rockets at this point unless its a three team deal for other players.

I would hope that Morey can't possibly be that stupid. The Pistons players are getting up there in age, and have repeatedly failed, year after year, due to their tendency to "coast" in certain games because they think they're too Godly to put forth effort. Despite the first round loss, T-Mac showed me all the heart he had to in game 6. And besides that, the T-Mac/Yao combo was looking unstoppable before Yao went down. They deserve one more year.

I'm sure Pistons fans love the rumors, though.

I'd do that deal that makes us a better and more complete team, imo
I'm still hoping for francis to make a big return next season, lol
It would give us a more complete lineup
I love mutumbo, but i dont think he's going to make it next season.

Agreed. No combination of any 2 of the 5 starting Pistons has anywhere near the offensive skill set or playmaking ability of T-Mac even combined. And seeing how bad our offense is when T-Mac is out, I don't want any part of this trade

You would think so wouldn't you? GO to the piston board and you'll see the biggest Tmac bashing since the last time i visited the orlando board.

I can think of two: Billups and Hamilton or Billups and Prince. Either one of those would be a highway robbery for us.

Billups and Sheed/or Prince would be way better than 1 Tmac. Not realistic though =/ Why even tease me =/

Billups is decling, and fast. He was HORRID in the playoffs this year, he's got quite a bit of money left on his contract, and he's pretty dang old.

Prince is a good player, but he's rather redundant with Battier.

I'd probably do Stuckey/Rip for Tmac, though.

Geez man, I disagree with everything you said there outside of "and".

- I don't see any Detroit deal making us a more complete team outside of possibly Hamilton/Billups for TMac, which isn't happening, period. It puts us into the luxtax, doesn't make sense for Detroit, and Billups has an ugly contract.
- For Francis to make a big return to what exactly? The player he was when we had him before? That'd be a nightmare. A point guard? We have a better chance of Yao learning the position than Francis.
- If Mutombo isn't re-signed, sure, but Morey has previously said he intends to bring him back. If he is signed and doesn't get injured, he should produce at roughly the same rate.
Morey 2020.

FINALLY people start to realize that Hamilton is no where Tmac level, same as Ginobili, you should never dare to compare a superstar with a super role-player.
Hamilton is worst defender than Tmac, worst scorer (not shoter), and worst playmaker, Billups as a PG is not better than Tmac in any aspect of the game. plus hes 32 years old.

Pistons fans obviously want him. They would give Billups and Hamilton, let's see if Dumars really can make an offer and what Morey says about it.

Are u guys really saying that you wouldnt trade tmac for rip and sheed??

Can u picture this lineup?
alston - rip - battier - sheed - yao preferably for me/ francis - rip - battier - sheed- yao

But both of those lineups are better than
alston- tmac - battier - scola - yao

It would give us a huge boost in the post, offensively and defensively.
And it would give us a more balanced attack.
With scola moving to the bench, it would also improve our bench.

You gotta think of the finances and long-range prospects, too.

Sheed and Rip make a bundle.

PF isn't a weakness of ours anymore. Scola and Landry both had solid rookie seasons, and we bolstered the position this year with Dorsey.

Oh, and as much as I liked Francis back in the day (I'm not a Francis hater like some other posters here... or a Head hater for that matter), he'll probably never get back to that form. Too bad. I kind of miss his errant passes to the fourth row.
