Camby Heading Here?

Post#1 » by Pugsley_2491 » Fri Jul 11, 2008 8:34 pm

I just saw on MSG this morning that the Nets and Nuggets are in talks to bring Marcus Camby to the Nets in a deal involving Marcus Williams and Nenad Krstic.

Thoughts?

If we aquire a Dooling , Pargo as backup PG . Yeah why not . Camby could help our younger bigs and he's expiring at the right time . Then we throw in Swift or someboby to make salaries work and there you go.

We still have to find new homes for Swift , Hassel and using KvH's expiring would be nice aswell.

Fine with it. We're just without a backup PG now. I personally don't think Nenad really fits in to Denver's style though. I think Stro/Hassel/Williams would be a better package. Plus if it's just Nenad/Marcus, that means Nenad is getting a decent payday and I don't really see why the Nuggets would be comfortable with taking a chance on another big man with a knee injury (see: Nene and Kmart)

That's going to be much easier said than done. Iannazzone stated we have about $2.3 million left from the MLE. I think another contending team or a team with a better location looking for a PG could overpay that.

I hope so, but I wouldn't get too excited yet. The Melo talks were all speculation, so now I don't trust anything out of Denver. Plus we have a bad history with injuries and so has Camby. I'm still all for the move though, i'd like to see some more proven talent to guide the youngsters while we're losing.

Down with NJN since Kenny and Derrick

It make sense that we try and get Camby. Regardless we are playing for lower seed playoff spots. We will need to compete we wont attract no premium FA if we suck.

I personally don't really care about that, I just want him to be able to teach and mentor our young bigs.

I would like if we keep our nucleus of young players so they can develop. Bringing Camby to the team cuts their playing time nd we would have to give up either Boone or S.Williams to get him. Sorry no can do, I think S.Williams can handle the defense dow low.

Who is our back up point guard. camby doesn't solve our lack of talent at the 1,2 and 3. we have harris, carter and no one. we have too many bigs. unless we are planning to put out a line up of all bigs then we need to trade some one (krstic) for a good wing player. because simmons, cdr, ager, hassel, and hayes aren't the best to play sf as starters. they are all back ups at this point. and none can play point.

and why would the nuggets do this. williams and krstic at this point are not worth camby. krstic if he can come back and marcus if he can reach his potential will be better but not at this point.

With Najera and Jarvis on board, I think this is a deal that should be done. Krstic/Marcus for Camby, and then use the KVH/Swift assets in another deal. Thorn has enough assets now where two seperate deals can be done to fill in the holes.

If we can somehow get Camby, Pargo, and a starting caliber SF in these next few weeks, we will have an interesting squad.

This is exactly what I've been thinking in some capacity. I can't wait for the next few weeks. I'm either gonna love it or hate it. Nonetheless, it'll be interesting indeed.

There payroll is very high and they were thinking about trimming it own. They also need to space to pay JR Smith.

The Nets should try persuade Krstic to play over seas for a year to get his game back. Dump the salaries and one of the bigs into the deal.
