OT: someone stole my license plate

Post#1 » by theTHIEF » Fri Jul 11, 2008 10:11 pm

WHAT???

My Orlando Magic tag has been stolen!!!

I dont know when it happened precisely,I think it happened when I stopped off at CVS to get a few things, but I'm not certain...I just got home and noticed, no tag...I told my wife and she said that it's become an epidemic now, people stealing plates so they can drive off at the gas pumps...

excellent, im assisting criminals now...

protect your plates people...

wow thats ridiculous man

make sure you call the DMV people cuz you don't want people taking your info (not sure if that's even possible but just to always be safe)

i just dont get why someone would steal another persons plate, you cant use it right?

Just checked - by law if you find them you are allowed to slap them silly with the plate.

Seriously thats just rediculous though. Isnt it illegal to drive without plates aswell? So could end up doubling back on you.

people steal plates and put it on stolen cars to evade the PO POs

thief definitely make sure to call the police and have them lookout for your tag..dmv doesnt contact law enforcement on these matters

That would've been better than Shaq jumping over escalade on youtube...I could see you getting a deal with the Lakers as a Turiaf replacement in the kobe commercial.

If you know it was at a CVS, check to see if they have surveillance cameras.

They will just do the paperwork and close the case. Hopefully I am wrong.

Thats how the system works unfortunately. Unless its a big deal. Even for muggings, they really don't actively chase the culprits unless it is of someone famous/important or if it is a murder.

But definitely do the police report and get the DMV to get you new plates. Get this customized to say "JJRedick" on the Magic plate.

Stupid question. Would insurance company pay for new tag? It would be very stupid to file a claim on something that small (under $100?)....but technically would they cover it?

thanks.

I bet you it was Cougar. She probably chased you down for bitter sweet revenge.

I can see this on eyewitness news.

"Magic fan accused of thieving RealGM mod over comments made regarding JJ Redick. JJ posted $10,000 bail to have her released. Next at noon, lotions found on the floor of the Orlando Magic locker room. We go live to the RDV cold plunge with Magicfan19482 for full story."

At least your car wasn't keyed. My car was keyed 5 times the last 3 months...probably some little jit in my neighborhood. If I find him in the act, he can be assured he'll have a lot of splainin to do to his momma about how he got those stitches.

Doesn't really bother me. Luckily I had some OEM paint from damage I had before so I just do a touchup and its back like new. The culprit must be so confused. One day I'm going to change the car to the same one in a different color and they'll be like WTF.....hahaha suckers
