OT: Patrick O'Bryant Signs With Boston

Post#1 » by HMFFL » Fri Jul 11, 2008 10:45 pm

The Celtics have signed Warriors free agent center Patrick O'Bryant to a two-year deal, according to NBA sources. The 7-foot-0, 260-pounder was the ninth overall pick out of Bradley in the 2006 NBA Draft by Golden State, but played sparingly in two seasons. The Celtics worked out O'Bryant, who is expected to backup center Kendrick Perkins, a week ago at their training facilty in Waltham.

He's been mentioned on here for a couple years now so I'm bringing this up.

KG probably rides him and makes man out of Patrick. If that doesn't work this young man is hopeless. I wish the young man the best as I'm a fan of his since his college days. It's really time for him to develop and prove he's not a waste of talent.

Well I guess the workout reports must have been inaccurate or intentionally negative. Best place for him as I have said many times Boston has the best big man coach in the entire league (Clifford Ray). If Clifford can't get him playing better then he's a lost cause.

Great! we could of signed him for nothing and we do nothing. I bet his contract is like 1.5 for 2yrs maybe even lower. Are you telling me Hawks can't even spend that RIGHT NOW on a FA because we have to wait till we see what happens with the Joshes? Come on! WTF are we doing!

I knew this would happen. The reports might have been right on in terms of the negatives. Fact is you got a young big man like this you have to try and sign him. Give him a two year contract just to see what happends. This guy could Diop part II.
