Best mock I've seen.
1: Oakland Raiders: Jamarcus Russell QB LSU
Despite the claims that Al Davis is sold on CJ, I'm not buying it. They still need a huge arm, the still have both Moss,Porter and Curry on their roster. JR will give them either a delayed or an instant impact. If the O-Line can pull it together and give thier QB some time to throw to Ball JR to Moss and Porter will scare a few AFC West teams.
2: Detroit Lions: Calvin Johnson WR Georgia Tech
Millen make the right pick here. Despite having two 1000 yard WR's last year, one was Mike Furrey, Whose greatest play before last year was an INT vs the Seahwks on Primetime TV. Yes an INT playing as a S. Last year was one of his 1st as a WR, and despite picking up somewhat of a Pay Day, that was just as insurance if CJ didn't fall. He did Kitna is happy Roy Williams is Happy, the entire Lions team is happy. Well except maybe Mike Furrey.
3: Cleveland Browns: Adrian Peterson RB Oklahoma
A 1 year Deal to the only RB on yopur roster worth any money. A Solid 3rd year QB, who finally has a line infropnt of him and all his top targets healthy. I really like the potential of Charlie Fyre. And that Line is shaping up to be very nice especially if Bentley comes back. One of Fraley or Bentley can move to OG to replace the horrid Joe Andruzzi, who cashed in after nice years in New England, Joe Thomas and Quinn are also option, but this FO is smart enough not to wrap up $200+ Million in one area, and to give at least one more chance to the talented Frye.
4: Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Gaines Adams DE Clemson
The most important position in the Cover 2. DE and S. Both are needs her in Tampa. Adams can play with Rice for one year then take over as the premeire guy. Rice is old and overpaid for his decling talents, and opposite him they have.........Well nobody. White who is OK left to sign with Detroit. Monte Kiffen loves to groom young players into Studs, he gets his chance here, with the best Pure Pass Rusher in the draft.
5: Arizona Cardinals: Joe Thomas OT Wisconsion
Arizona needs a LT. Joe Thomas is on the Board. JT will team up with Duece Lutui,Al Johnson,MiltonBrown,Mike Gandy,Reggie Wells. To form what will be a much improved line. JT will start from dya 1 at LT and with the NFL's Resident O-Line guru coaching in the desert it will only help the big man from wisconsion. Thomas - Lutui - Johnson - Gandy - Wells, Should look very attractive to Leinart and James.
6: Washington Redskins: Amobi Okoye DT Louisville
The Skins have a real good D in terms of Talent, but apparently thier DC is wasting it all. I don't buy it. The real root of the problem is that Their is No push or Pressure coming from the D-Line. The Skins really need to invest in some talent and here they get a 19 year old Prodigy at DT, who can anchor this line for 20 years, he is that durable....and young. With 1 pick on the 1st day the Skins need to make the most of it and Okoye does just that. ( I will admit that Williams has used ST in all the wrong ways, but that isnt the entire problem of the D)
7: Minnesota Vikings: LaRon Landry S LSU
Landry is BPA here, and the Vikings Pass D was ranked 30 spots below their Run D at 31. The reason this team is picking this high is the pass D so it makes sense that they address it. Doss is a Solid vet, but he is no any match for what Landry can put on the table.
8: Atlanta Falcons (f/HOU): Jamaal Anderson DE Arkansas
The Falcons were hoping for a Peterson or a Landry to fall, but neither did, so they settle for a consalation prize in Anderson. He has been given the Overrated tag so much that he is becoming underrated. The 1 year wonder calls are coming thick and fast, but you only have to look at what Jamaal acheived in 8 games as a sophmore in the SEC to see that this guy is the real deal. 10 TFL's and 4 sacks in 8 games is a real nice production in 8 games as a Soph. Add that with his moster J.r year with 19.5 TFL's adn 10.5 Sacks adn this spot is warrented. Atlanta lost Kerny and Abraham is injury prone, with Anderson being darn near BPA and filling a need this pick makes sense.
9: Miami Dolphins: Brady Quinn QB Notre Dame
Cam Cameron is his own man and he want's his own players to be running his team. Enter Brady Quinn. Culpepper is still rehabbing from his knee injury in 2005(his own words he is still not 100%) and With Quinn on the board Cameron cannot resist. Quinn being BPA helps this pick to be made. Quinn may not start his rookie year, battling with Culpepper,Harrington and Lemon on the depth chart, in fact i see him doing a Palmer. Sit all 16 games no matter what then come out 2nd year and blow away the competiton. The time off the feild will help Brady to develop some of his weaknesses, Locking onto Receivers for one will improve markedly in practice with the talent the phins have on D.
10: Houstan Texans (f/ATL): Leon Hall CB Michigan
The texasn pick need right here and take Hall the best CB in the Draft. They have one of the best young CB's in the NFL in Robinson, but outside of him they got nothing. Kubiak will stick by his mantra of developing late round O-Line and RB's into studs. He gives his D a little more to work with. The Texans D is beginning to shape up with Hall and Robinson at CB Willams at DE adn LB Ryans leading the pack.
11: San Fransisco 49'ers: Alan Branch DT/DE Michigan
The 9ers need help along the defensive front. Young is OLD and this is likely his last year the let go of Adams, and Desperatly need a NT to step up. Branch could be that guy, a space eater taking on double teams allowing guys like TBC and Manny Lawson room to blitz. Not the pretty or highlight pick, but Branch is a talented guy who can have an impact on this D.
12: Buffalo Bills: Patrick Willis LB Ole Miss
Losing two of your 3 Starting LB's inst good for a franchise. Spikes and Flethcer are Out. Willis is in. He can start in the middle or on the outside. He will form a nice Duo with Angelo Crowell, and try to emulate the success to the two guys who left this season. RB is possible, but with the way that the A-Train played late last year i think Levy feels he can carry the load, and if not the can alwyas go after Michael Turner via Trade, or in FA next year.
13: St Louis Rams: Adam Carikker DE Nebraska
One of the toughest picks I had to make. The rams weakest spots are at SLB and DT. Picking at either of them would be a horrible reach. so i look to another area of the D. With Hill taken last year and a nice combo forming with Him Bartell and Butler, and with Chavous and Atogwe locking down the S spot i felt that Depth at DE, was a need. Little is aging and won't be around forever, Hall is OK, but injury prone, Adjenau their mid rounder last year will come on a bit this season, but past that there is nothing. Carikker is a top talent and a workhorse, he can also fill in some at DT which is a plus and another reason promting this pick.
14: Carolina Panthers: Reggie Nelson S Florida
Nelson is the 2nd best S of the draft. Carolina with Mike Minter aging and Shaun Williams not an NFL Calibre Starting S, take the Athleic man from Florida. Nelson is only suited to FS which means that Minter will have to move to SS but that should be fine. This D looks real dangerous now, with a Ballhawk in Nelson adn an Manchild in Peppers pressuring the QB lots of INT's could be on the cards for this D.
15: Pittsburgh Steelers: Lawrence Timmons LB Florida State
Caoch Tomlin, may or may not move the team to a 4-3 D, and if he does Timmons is a good fit at OLB in his scheme. If he doesn't Timmons can play a part in replacing Porter or covering on plays for Farrior. Whichever way you look at it Timmons is an upgrade over Harrison. Timmons will also play a part in nickel and possibly Dime situations as one of the best LB's on the team suited to drop into coverage.
16: Green Bay Packers: Marshawn Lynch RB California
Packers lost Green, gain Lynch. The luck is with the Pack on draft day, Lynch can explode onto the scene his rookie year as he will be handed the starting job from day 1. With Favre in the backfeild with you, there is no better place to learn than GB. Lynch can run and Catch the ball, providing Brett with another target. Lynch could provide years that Packer fans havent seen since Green in his Heyday. 1800 Yrad adn double digit touchdowns.
17: Jacksonville Jaguars: Michael Griffin S Texas
The Jags, might need a WR, but with Jones, Williams and Wilford they pass, They however do need a S. With Darius oft injured adn grant lost to FA, they can use Griffin at FS or SS, pair him with Darius or with fellow youngster Sensbaugh. The jags D really is looking scary, and i bet Mike is looking forward to hitting his former teammate VY as he sets off on a run.
18: Cincinnati Bengals: Darelle Revis CB Pittsburgh
Wiht Jopesph taken wiht their 1st selection last year some may find this an interesting pick, but with James sent packing adn O'Neal coming off a bad year Revis make sense. He gives them an elite pairing to take into the future and could help int the return game as a Rook. Who can stop Ocho Cinco, you never know maybe Revis in Practice is as close as you will get.
19: Tennesse Titans: Chris Houstan CB Arkansas
With Pacman gathering dots at WVU finishing his degree, the Titans are stuffed at CB, Hill was the #2 last year and one of the worst in the NFL. Harper was signed as a FA and will have to stepup, but the Titans cannot afford to have Hill starting in this Division vs Peyton Manning. Houstan provides the team with a boost, and a dangerous tandem when pacman gets back.
20: New York Giants: Levi Brown OT Penn State
Brown slips a little bit on draft day adn the Giants are glad to pick him up at 20. Wiht no CB worth it on the board, and letting go of Luke Pettigout, the Giants look for a replacement. Rather than leave Deihl at LT, they get Brown a mauler in the Run gaem to play LT leaving Deihl at his preferred OG.
21: Denver Broncos: Jarvis Moss DE Florida
Dumerville played well last year a a rook, but Ekuban,Lang and Englebeger not anywhere close to cutting it, Moss is the pick. He has the frame to put on some more pounds to be able to take the beating of the NFL. He provides the broncos with a legit Pass Rush from both sides of the Line making to commbo of Bailey and Bly, the new Killer B's even more dangerous.
22: Dallas Cowboys: Robert Meachem WR Tennesse
Glenn is getting older and no one ever knows when Owens will blow up or how new HC Phillips will handle it, and beside Meachem is the BPA here. Dallas needs a new WR they get one here, Romo gets a new Toy to play with (hope he doesnt drop it too ........sorry) and will push out Crayton to 4 on the depth chart. Could really open up the feild for a 4 WR set, and give Jones and Barber running Room, or freeing up one of the WR's most teams don;t have a #4 CB talented enough to cover Meachem or Crayton. Dallas forming a nice O.
23: Kansas City Cheifs: Dwyane Bowe WR LSU
KC finally get a Legit #1 Target in the passing game, Green or Huard or Croyle can now throw to a WR that a casula fan might know. Gonzalez will have more space due to the other team having to pay attention to a WR, adn LJ will enjoy the extra space of Draw plays.
24: New England Patriots (f/SEA): Aaron Ross CB Texas
With the Samuel wants to be traded deal Ross is a safe pick. Ross also has great talent to be able to start for any team in the NFL at some stage. Ross will challenge Hobbs as a Rook, and possibly pass him up. Chad Scott adn Ray Mickens are also nothing in the way of depth. Ross and Samuel could be deadly with Thomas, Colvin adn company going after the QB.
25: New York Jets: Greg Olsen TE Miami(FL)
The jest need what a 3-4 DE, None available, a 3-4 OLB, None worth the pick. How abouts a RT, Hmm none here sorry CB Nothing here worth it. What you mean the Draft is sold out of all our needs,Dang. The Jets really are put into a tough position here and the fans may have a legitimate reason to boo this year as they go BPA and take the Top TE in the draft in Olsen. He provides a much bigger threat than Baker ever did and Can split out wide and play as a 3rd WR.
26: Philadelpha Eagles: Ted Ginn Jr. WR Ohio State
NOW just wait a second before you Eagles fan get your claws out and rip me to shreds i'll lay it out for ya. Spikes is your new LB takes care of that. S only Meriweather is avaiable, and i firmly belive that this team will stay away from him due to the off feild issues. Maybe some depth at CB, Wright is here but the same deal with the off feild issues. D-Line is pretty set as is almost everything on O. They may need a #1 target, Curtis might replace Stallworth, but Brown Lewis are still not up to standard. When a guy like Ted Ginn is dropping and is the BPA at the pick, you take him and that is exactly what the eagles do. He will return kicks and putn immediatly, and work his way up form #4 on the WR depth chart. Heck they may even trial him at CB during training camp. All in all nothing here available for the Eagles so BPA is the way they go.
ASIDE [ Both Philadelpha and the Jets are in horrible positions. Teams looking to move back into the rear end on the 1st will strike up a possible deal with them on draft day especially with the talent still on the board]
27: New Orleans Saints: Paul Posluznsy LB Penn State
Fujita is a nice player at LB and Simoneau is doind an admirable job, as is Shanle, but when a top talent like Posluznsy comes along at 27 you have to take the chance. The Saints could stand to improve their LB's and with no real other options on the board at this point i fell they will take Posluznsy off right here. He could play either inside or outside for them.
28: New England Patriots: David Harris ILB Michigan
After filling in the hole at BC, the pats look to LB for add youth and depth. Vrabel and Bruschi arent going to be around forever, especially with Mike doubling as a goalline TE and Tedy's known heart problems so they take the top ILB prospect available here. Harris will provide immediate ST helpo and depth as well as spelling Tedy and Mike from time to time, and perhaps ironically extending thier careers.
29: Baltimore Ravens: Joe Staley OT Central Michigan
The Ravens could plug in my Grandma at LB and she could pile up 50+ tackles and 6 or 7 sacks, but all jokes aside i think the staff like what they have at LB with Cody and Johnson able to fill in for the now Patriot Thomas. Scott could also move outside and play there. All the while as the LB's pile up their stast JO gets older and Slower and more and more injury prone. In Staley the Ravens see a guy who is eager and willing to learn from one of the greatest to ever play and the jump in when he moves on. Joe could be a stud and steal at 29 especially with the mentoring that Ogden will provide.
30: San Deigo Chargers: Brandon Meriweather S Miami (FL)
The Chargers need help at S, and they will ignore the oncerns around Meriweather and snap up the once top 10 talent at the back end of the 1st. He will help provide some more pass coverage deep and add to a very very talented group of guys. and beside he won't have to stay with assignments long with Merriman and Phillips chasing down the QB. Meriweather could also help them at CB in a pinch
31: Chicago Bears: Dwyane Jarrett WR USC
With Moose aging and Berrian purely a deep threat the Bears end the free fall of Jarret at 31. a Top 10 talent that dropped because of his speed, now has a very large chip on his shoulder and will be out to prove to many teams (especially the Vikes.........I'm Sorry) that they shouldnt have passed on him. Rex loves his new target, all he has to do is lopb it and let the big guy go get it. He really helps the team in the redzone as well. The Bears new ability to run a 3WR set with WR's that need to be covered will also open up room for 1st year starter Cedric Benson to get some yards.
32: Indianapolis Colts: John Beason LB Miami (FL)
The Colts lost June to FA and will need to fill in that spot. Wiht their only other real need DT (although they do have Simon and McFarland) a reach here. the Colts will allow an Open Competiton to fill the 3 LB spots. Gardner,Keiaho,Brackett, Morris and Beason will push each other to the limit to fill the three spots. A Healthy competiton for places can only do good for the Colts Run D as well.
33. Oakland Raiders: Justin Blalock OG Texas
The Raiders need a New line, Blalock is the start.
34. Detroit Lions: Justin Durant ILB Hampton
Could be veiwed as a reach here, but Durant is the Perfect 4-3 Cover 2 ILB. He has good speed and vision and plays very very well in coverage.
35. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Sidney Rice WR South Carolina
Rice is a top 10 talent with coaching and here is a nice pick considering Galloway is Old and Clayton hasn't shown much.
36. Cleveland Browns: Eric Wright CB UNLV
With Injuries decimating the Browns CB corps, they pickup a guy with 1st round taent but a few Character concerns.
37. Chicago Bears (f/WAS/NYJ): Ben Grubbs OG Auburn
After adding Jarrett in the 1st, they upgrade the Line with Grubbs, who they are also targeting in the 1st.
38. Arizona Cardinals: Anthony Spencer DE Purdue
A new pass rush DE is need in the Desert, Berry is always injured and Okeafor and Him are both 30+. Spencer has a high enegry style of play that gets him to the QB a lot.
39. Atlanta Falcons (f/HOU): Eric Weddle S Utah
The Falcons take another guy in the 2nd that could play CB or S. They will trial both him and Jimmy Williams at both spots, and give one to each player.
40. Miami Dolphins: Ryan Kalil C USC
Miami have a very shaky Line and that is part of the problem with the O. They get a top 30 Porspect who drops becasue of his position, comparable to Nick Mangold.
41. Minnesota Vikings: Anthony Gonzalez WR Ohio State
Vikes need a WR, Gonzalez is available. Give T-Jax a guy to throw to who won't drop the ball ala Williamson. Gonzalez has the talent to become a #1 target.
42. San Francisco 49'ers: Steve Smith WR USC
9ers have Vernon Davis as their #1 target right now. at WR they have Arnaz Battle as #1 this pick is simple, Smith to Smith.
43. Buffalo Bills: Kenny Irons RB Auburn
Losing Willis, is good for the team chemistry, but bad on the feild. Irons will help to releive some of that pain in a combo with the A-Train.
44. Atlanta Falcons: Aaron Sears OL Tennesse
Petrino wants to get this line Bigger, Sears can provide bulk and Ability at 4 spots along the line.
45. Carolina Panthers: Charles Johnson DE Georgia
The Panthers need more Depth and Youth at this spot, Johnson is a good character, who with coaching could be a double digit sack guy.
46. Pittsburgh Steelers: Tim Crowder DE/OLB Texas
Tomlin again make a pick that can work in both the 3-4 and 4-3. If they move to the 4-3 Crowder can play DE adn Timmons OLB. If 3-4 Stays Crowder can replace Porter and Timmons can play Inside.
47. Green Bay Packers: Ben Patrick TE Delaware
The Pack need a new TE. Franks is past his prime and never was a great pass catcher. Patrick is a fast riser, who has risen when teams saw his tape not measureables. Catches anything in sight and is probably the best blocker in this class a great all round TE, and a new Target for whoever their QB is when Favre leaves.
48. Jacksonville Jaguars: Victor Abiamiri DE Notre Dame
A team that doesn't have a lot of needs goes BPA at a slight need. Abiamiri has 1st round talent but mid roudn Production. The only player on the Notre Dame D-Line, faced constant double teams to take him out of the game. Can be a stud with some good company (Stroud and Henderson...Check) and a Nice Coach (Del Rio....Check)
49. Cincinnati Bengals: Justin Harrell DT Tennesse
Bengals have struggled with the indes of the line and stopping the run. Harrell is a talented guy who missed all of last year with an arm injury. He is a good run stuffer, who can also get to the QB.
50. Tennessee Titans: Jason Hill WR Washington State
With Bennett gone, the Titans need to replace him. Roby won't step up and they have Givens and Jones starting. Hill at worst will hold down the #3 spot for a long time, but he could also develop into a true #1 for VY.
51. New York Giants: Marcus McCauley CB Fresno State
The Giants really need to upgrade the secondary and do it here with a very talented guy, who lack production. Starting him out in the Nickel will be great for Marcus, who with his measureables and talent could be a real stud in the NFL at CB.
52. St. Louis Rams: Tank Tyler DT NC State
Rams need a huge run stuffer, Enter Tank Tyler, a big stronf upper body helps him to create leverage and penetration to stop the RB in his tracks.
53. Dallas Cowboys: Tony Ugoh OT Arkansas
Admas is Old, and Davis will never be a LT again in this league. Ugoh is a talented guy who is raw and need coaching before PT. He lands in a real nice situation here. He backs up adams for at least 1 year then can step in and be the guy the cowboys hoped for.
54. Kansas City Chiefs: Josh Beekman OG Boston College
The Cheifs Line disappeared last year to retirement. Beekman is the start of replenishing the stocks that for so long had the best O-Line in the NFL.
55. Seattle Seahawks: Zach Miller TE Arizona State
Stevens is out, Mili is only OK and the Hakws have no real needs. TE here is the smart pick. Miller was once a 1st rounder and #1 TE, here he is the 3rd off the board and the Hawks get a talented guy.
56. Denver Broncos: James Maarten OT Boston College
Traded Foster away and need some more bodies at OT. Maarten is a real classic BC guy, a Big Bodied guy with athletic ability to play in the ZBS. Can start from Day 1 of backup and the move into the lineup.
57. Philadelphia Eagles: Aaron Rouse S Virginia Tech
Eagles have Sean Consedine at S, Rouse has been dropping for unkown reasons he is a player adn will fit in very nicely alongside B-Dawk.
58. New Orleans Saints: Quinn Pitcock DT Ohio State
NO have a hole at DT, With Young Whitehead and Thomas, all aging and not overly talented guys they pickup the once #1 DT Quinn Pitcock. Couldve been a top 10 pick with a productive senior season. Instead makes the Saints happy at 58.
59. New York Jets: LeMarr Woodley DE Michigan
The Jets need a pass rush from OLB. Woodley is best suited to OLB in a 3-4, He is also a high charater guy that will work his behind off for the team. A Classic Mangini guy who will produce in the 3-4.
60. Miami Dolphins (f/NE): Craig Davis WR LSU
Essentially they trade Welker for Davis. Davis could be a true #1 if he gets coaching, but at worst will be a real nice #2 and provide Quinn with another guy to throw to. Davis can also Return if asked to.
61. Baltimore Ravens: Drew Stanton QB Michigan State
Ravens have no big holes, but McNair is old and is Boller the answer??? Enter Stanton the #3 QB in the class, and a guy who has all the physical tools to succeed. Did what he could with minimal talent at the spartans, could be an NFL Star.
62. San Diego Chargers: Paul Williams WR Fresno State
Chargers are one truw WR away from a real top O. Jackson is the big target to throw to, but McCardell is old, and they need to replace him. Williams was a top pick before an injury took him out of the season, a real productive guy could be a steal here.
63. New York Jets (f/CHI): Ikaika Alama-Francis DE Hawaii
Prototype 3-4 DE, Big strong quick, he is exactly what a team like the Jets Need here. Will Help free up Vilma and Woodley by eating up O-Lineman.
64. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (f/IND): John Wendling S Wyoming
With a S depth chart full of late round guys who are not great the Bucs go D again here, and pick up Wendling. An underrated S due to the small school, can be a productive guy and plays well in coverage.

A for effort. I'm a Packer fan and while everyone and their brother is giving us Marshawn Lynch, I'd rather grab one of the top D-Lineman if they fall, or perhaps Revis, Griffin or Nelson. After watching tape of Patrick I can't say I'm impressed with him at all. I think he's being overrated.
I could see the Packers taking both. I wouldn't be thrilled but I could live with it.

I'm a pats fan, and I put B. I looked at the pats draft picks, and there is no way that they would draft a linebacker unless Willis or Posluzsky is available. I doubt that Carolina would draft Nelson when they need a tight end badly, so they would draft Greg Olsen. So the Jags would draft Nelson, Griffin would fall and the pats would probably pick Griffin up with the 28th pick.

Shzm in my mock draft I actually have the Panthers and Skins swinging a deal for them to pickup Laron Landry. I have them giving the Skins Kris Jenkins and the 14th for the 6th overall. I think it's a great deal for both parties.

all in all, good job. I think you give Matt Millen too much credit, he doesn't have balls enough to pick CJ....though he should. If they do, they need to draft O-Lineman in the 2nd. In your mock, Kalil and Grubbs are both available when the Lions draft at #34. I think that would serve them better.
As for my Chargers, decent picks. I hope Griffen falls to us, but with the Patriots and Eagles both needing secondard help, it might not happen.

I think Millen needs more of an impact maker right away to help him keep his job, and who better than CJ?
As far as the Lions picking olinemen... They have Backus signed to a top 5LT contract $, they traded for Foster, signed Mutilao and the other G who played for the Titans, (i forget his name.)
They need help in their secondary, but their LB corps is pretty damn weak outside of Simms. It might be a bit of a reach for Durant, but I think they'll pick him because he fits their scheme.
