Franchise player on the GSW?
Jackson still the leader, Maggette would probably be the best scorer, and Ellis the future best player, but how about next year, who will be considered the best player in the team?

I hope GState knows what they're doing if they sign Ellis to a huge deal. Hopefully he's able to handle a lot of defensive attention when the team becomes his.

Re: Franchise player on the GSW?
I question how he'll flourish with Richardson departing one offseason and Davis the next. Especially when Nellie leaves town after a 2009 lotto pick.

The Warriors are built more like the PIstons were no 1 player is more important then the other.
(For the future that is)
Ellis comes close I say , but no way is CapNjack or Spaggetti franchise players for us
Randolph could be in a few years but hard to say right now
Ellis
Bellynelly
Randolph
Wright
Beans

People said Ellis couldnt fill the void of Richardson only to see his scoring go up to 20ppg and shoot above 50% now they say he can he fill the void of Baron will just have to wait and see.........

Re: Franchise player on the GSW?
Maggette could've filled the void for J-Rich as well... A swingman who can't pass or defend but can score.
Monta is definitely the 'franchise' player. Jack, as it stands now, is the team's best overall player.
I'd really like to see Monta take the next step and elevate his game in a new way, particularly since he'll be running the show somewhat (he's not going to be saddled with as much responsibility as a lot of people think - Jack and Maggs will score just as much and have the ball in their hands almost as much). He's still in a great position to succeed individually and he's a pretty spectacular player.

Re: Franchise player on the GSW?
If every team technically has a franchise player, its easy to figure out who it is.
Hypothetically, if everyone was cut tomorrow, what player would they resign first, to the longest and/or biggest deal?
Ellis.

Yes, Golden State is the extremely poor version of the Piston with life support.

Re: Franchise player on the GSW?
I would project Ellis or BW...but no clear cut winner right now.
