Trade Proposal

Post#1 » by Flite » Sat Jul 12, 2008 3:00 am

I just read a suggestion from a poster on our Bulls board and I had to come to you guys to get your take on it. I like the trade alot, but I don't know if the Nets do it because I don't have the best idea on how they value their players.

Here's the deal:

Chicago Sends:

Andres Nocioni | SF | 13.2 PPG | 4.2 RPG | 1.2 APG

Cedric Simmons | PF | 0.6 PPG | 1.3 RPG | 0.0 APG

New Jersey Sends:

Stromile Swift | PF | 6.1 PPG | 3.6 RPG | 0.5 APG

Trenton Hassell | SG | 2.0 PPG | 1.3 RPG | 0.7 APG

With Vinny talking about a run and gun style offence, Stromile can handle some backup center minutes behind Joakim Noah. Hassell will be added to a glut of guards, but he should be able to handle some minor backup small forward duty.

You guys get the best player in the deal.

If this trade is plausible, I'd like to take it a step further and add a first round draft pick in exchange for Marcus Williams, who would nicely fit the backup point guard position if Kirk Hinrich is traded.

Yes for the first trade? Yes for both? No for both?

Thanks

No to the first (Nocioni doesn't really fit into my idea of rebuilding), maybe to the second.*

It really depends on whether or not the Nets get a reliable backup point guard of their own thus allowing Marcus Williams to become truly expendable...

Although it is unlikely, I would do the deal. (The first One).

Take out Cedric, get us Thabo and it's on. As you can see with our roster, we don't need another PF with upside. Thabo and CDR growing together could be fun to see.

Adding Thabo to the deal would rule it all out. In that case we would give you guys the best player in the deal (Thabo), the second best player (Andres) and the best prospect (Thabo) for a backup C/PF and a third string guard.

No deal.

No. This is just a case in which two teams can't trade. Nets don't want Noc's contract and will want more than what Chicago's willing to part with for the reasons stated by Flite. No way Chicago does this deal with Thabo. No way NJ does this deal taking back Noc's contract by itself.
