Kiszla: Static Nugs will get static

Post#1 » by SnakefromHell » Fri Jul 11, 2008 12:19 pm

At a time when most NBA teams are getting down to the serious business of making themselves better, are the Nuggets out to lunch? With a jaw-dropping, wallet-busting commitment of $72.5 million to its top six players for the upcoming season, Denver currently has zero chance of winning the league championship.

The strongest reason to believe the Nuggets will make a major trade before their next game? Because doing nothing is not a viable option. From Boston to Los Angeles, at least 10 NBA teams must be taken more seriously than Denver as legitimate contenders.

In return for his generous investment in a sport he genuinely loves, Nuggets owner Stan Kroenke has a team with credibility issues. Denver is a savvy basketball town, and folks around here are no longer buying what the Nuggets are selling.

I hope all this bashing in public will get the owner to finally care about the state of the team... this sucks. We got a businessman who owns this organization and treats it like an investment for strictly business not an investment for business and hobby and love for the game.

Stan has no clue about basketball that's why he's so silent and confides to Bret Bearup for "advice".

Guys, while I don't disagree with what you have stated above.....

Facts are, Melo/AI sells more jerseys than any other two player tandem in the league. THAT is why Kroenke is putting up with the luxury tax....

And this is exactly why George Karl is still here although 4 first round exits with three wins... Stan doesn't know anything about basketball... hell I don't know baseball, if I own a baseball team, I'd hire a coach with a impressive resume.

George has impressive resume from the 1990s... but he's washed up. His coaching skills are gone ever since he decided that being a nice guy takes priority over being a coach.

I dont really think Kroenke cares too much for the money factor considering him and his wife are worth like 10 billion or whatever... I think Kroenke wants to prove he can succeed being a NBA owner as well. Unfortunately he really doesnt know much about NBA and it kinda seems like no one in the FO or coaching staff really seems to know much about anything about our current situation and thats why our biggest move of the offseason is Anthony Carter's resigning and honestly I think their too dumb to gamble on any moves, and it wouldnt surprise me if we really dont do anything for the rest of the offseason.
