So, a closed, non-issue/

Re: Lee for a PG?
please no...Lee has got talent, determination, hustle and he's strong mentally and physically, regardless of him ever "blowing up" he's still going to be a solid contributor...
Otis loves him, SVG loves him, they would not have taken a 2nd round bauble guy with the #22 pick to turn around and trade him away...Otis is a pretty smart guy, but I don't think he orchestrated a plan to steal this kid knowing how he was going to fare and then turn him into a PG via trade...I like Otis and all, but...
this aint happening BS...
and he's signed...

Re: Lee for a PG?
so if lee and JJ r going nowhere and we do keep cook cause of his 3pt range, the only asset we haev to get a PG are:
future picks,bogans and fran
i think critterion and a vet PG would be perfect for our PG rotation
so how do we get critterion from memphis with thoses asset?
bogans+future 1st (2010) for criterion? (works under teh cap rules)
memphis might bite for a vet sg/sf and a future 1st

Crittenton is tall, but that's about all he brings. He is terrible handling the ball. He is a poor distributor. Coupled, his assists / TOs career stat is 1. YUCK!
Bogans+future 1st (2010) is a bad trade for Orlando. Bogans straight up Crittenton is plausible as the Magic dump enough salary to sign Jason Williams to the full bi-annual.
The roster as a depth chart would then be:
Nelson, Williams, Crittenton
Pietrus, Redick, Lee
Turkloglu
Lewis, Cook, Gortat
Howard, Battie, Augustine
There is still a need for a combo forward to play some 3/4 minutes. But all in all, that's a good balanced roster.

Re: Lee for a PG?
he brings a bit more than height...Crittenton is an elite athlete, very quick, very long, great defender, good play maker, good passer, needs to improve his shot and needs to become a bit more selfish...just needs solid minutes and coaching...I'm a big Critt believer...

Re: Lee for a PG?
Thief, there is some debate as to whether Critt will be a solid PG. Memphis has played him exclusively as a SG. What kind of player could/should he be?
I ask because there is a pretty juicy rumor over at the O-Zone forum that Otis is working on a deal to bring in a PG, who is assumed to be one of Jarrett Jack, Javaris Crittenton, Kyle Lowry, or Sergio Rodriguez.

I would definitely be a fan of bringing in Jarrett Jack. I was a fan of his on Portland. He seemed like a scrappy player to me.

I like the idea of Rodriguez. Given the playing time, I really think that guy could become another Jose Calderon. He's not a great shooter at the moment, but he has good PG size at 6'3", and he is a pure point, with an assists per 48 average of nearly 11 for his (albeit short) career, and an ast:TO ratio of 2.6:1. He's got quick hands on defense, and best of all he's still only 22. Acquiring him and then picking up a solid vet like Anthony Johnson for the minimum would be a couple of very good moves at the point, IMO.

If those 4 are definitly the ones hes considering, hes going to push hardest for Jack. Jack is an otis smith kinda guy; low upside, what you see is what you get.

Re: Lee for a PG?
i dont believe the rumor personally...however, I like Jack (some may remember my push for him in 06-07 as well as this last season) and Lowry for us, but Memphis wants good return for Lowry and Im not sure we have that, and Jack cant be traded until December, right? also, losing Jack and putting Tinsley out, leave indy with Ford and Diener, not sure if that's what they are looking to do or not...I dont think Crittenton will ever play for Orlando and I dont think Portland will drop Rodriguez...

Re: Lee for a PG?
i think trading a future 1st 2010(which will more than likely be a really late 1st pick) with or without bogans for critterion is a good idea
so we get critterion and keep our 2009 1st rounder
we then have all our players locked for yrs
http://hoopshype.com/salaries/orlando.htm
team until 2009/2010
nelson,criterion
pietrus,lee
hedo,lewis
lewis,battie,cook
howard,battie,(hopefully gortat)
with our 2009 1st we take the BPA (likely a PF)
so as u can see our 2010 1st pick is very expandable ,cause once we get criterion our roster is set for yrsssssssssss
