Building A Franchise

Post#1 » by Neal04 » Sun Jul 13, 2008 2:22 am

Your franchise is either going to win now or building towards winning consistently in the future. You get to chose any player for either situation.

Mine are:

Win Now - Tim Duncan
Win in the Future - Lebron James

Where are the 11 people left on your franchise? Or do we add a player to our current team? I didn't understand. Or, there is a chance you might think Tim Duncan is worth a championship alone, well...

I mean you get to choose one player to build around for either scenario(win now or win in the future).

I think LBJ is a pretty good option for winning now if you're team is already good.

I'd think of picking Kobe if there wasn't an NBA finals..

win now: Lebron James/Tim Duncan/Kevin Garnett/Chris Paul
win in the future: Lebron James/Dwight Howard/Chris Paul

Is it limited to our teams? If so, I'm picking Bryant for the Sixers.

If it's just a general question, give me Duncan for the present, and Dwight for the future. Can't really argue against those guys.

You don't necessarily have to pick the best player in the league. In my opinion if I were given one player to build a team around that was going for a championship next season I'd take Duncan. He single handily makes his team defence better, although his offensive game isn't as good as it used to be, it is still pretty decent. He'd be the easiest player to build a championship team around, that's just my opinion.

I think you almost have to pick one of Lebron, Dwight or Paul to win in the future. Dwight and Paul represent two of the hardest positions to fill and they are the best at their perspective positions and Lebron is the most dominant player in the game.

In the past ten years, every champion has had a dominant big man (either on offense or defense), so that is the position you need to build around.

Now: KG or Duncan

Later: Dwight or Oden
