Yea I just saw that backup thing. Favre would never agree to be a backup. I doubt he comes back.

Man, things are taking a turn for the worse in the Packer/Favre relationship. Favre is leaving the team out to dry, first he rejects the offer to come back in March, and then says he wants to come back after the Packers have seemingly moved on. The FO just ends up looking like the bad guys if they release him, and if they keep him, what if things don't work out? THey're just stunthing Aaron Rodgers development.

Of course, if Favre was pressured by the Packers to retire, than things get a lot more complicated.

Apparently the Packers pressured Favre into making a decision before he was ready. But yeah this is not going to end well for anybody. Not Favre. Not Rodgers. Not the Packers.

If the Vikings can land Favre, that team has to be a strong contender for the superbowl. They have the dline assuming everyone stays healthy to go up against any Oline in football. Its a better line than what the Giants had last year, and the single reason they beat the Pats and won the superbowl. They have strong lines, a strong d, a strong running game. All they need is a QB, thats above below average to really contend. Jackson is complete garbage, and imo is just another Quincy Carter without the snow problem. He will be out of the league in 2 years.

i don't see why the packers would let farve come back as a backup, it would ruin rodgers he'd constantly be looking over his shoulder and trying not to lose his starting job

The Baltimore Sun says that the Ravens are not likely going to pursue Brett Favre.

And it's unfortunate that it's come to this. I'm sure there are a lot of fans that are thinking, from what they've heard, that Brett is a traitor, he wants to go play elsewhere. That's not true. I was told that playing in Green Bay was not an option. Regardless of what you hear from up there. I'm not making it up. I was told that playing in Green Bay was not an option. Then I was told that we can't envision you playing for another team as well.

What does that tell me? It tells me, 'We don't want you playing, period.'

packers want him to hang it up, this is going to get interesting

The part that I find funny is the part that was mentioned earlier. The whole madden cover. If he gets released and signs with a team like minny, then you purchase madden with him on the cover with green bay. Hillarious.

I hope gbay just changes their minds and lets farve back with green bay. It's not like he had a bad year last year. He has still got it. Backup is disrespectful.

Remember when Favre whined to the media when Javon Walker held out for bigger pay on his contract? The general rule is that you NEVER call out another player when it comes to MONEY but Brett (selfish and braindead that he is) just had open that big, fat mouth of his.

Then Walker blows out his knee in a preseason game.

This is called KARMA, Brett. You told Walker to honor his contract so maybe now you should honor yours. If Thompson was smart he'd trade him to Miami for a pick - not as a backup... way to poison the clubhouse.

Did Farve ride the short bus when he was a kid? Is his IQ below 70?

He called Vikings personnel using a phone that was provided by the Packers. This is seriously the funniest thing I have ever read. At some point, did Brett not realize the team was going to check his calls?
