Udonis Haslem

Post#1 » by Clip34life » Sat Jul 12, 2008 11:48 pm

I mentioned him on the Heat board and they were looking for Tim Thomas and Deandre Jordan. I would be all over that trade. We could use the rest of our cap space to fill out the roster with depth. We could then target players like Carl Landry, Josh Childress, Kurt Thomas, and others to give our roster some depth.

This is a news to me. Why would the Heat trade Haslem for Thomas and Jordan?
It doesn't makes sense.

if Haslem will be traded, Miami will package Banks with him. Not that we don't like Banks but because his contract exceeds 2010. Riley already mentioned his plan of cap space in that year.

Hmm. Clippers might swallow Banks contract in a Mobley swap to make this deal happen. If we get Quinn in the deal

Haslem is overrated IMO. I'd rather have Randolph. Can't believe I just said that.

When you compare the two. Randolph is the overrated player here. However, I can see why you rather have him over Haslem due to Z-Bo's offensive skills.

The thing about Haslem is he's a starter, has championship experience, and is affordable. He could easily go to the bench if we find or develop a better player.

Its not because I'm a Heat fan but I think Haslem will be the better fit along side Kaman.

Randolph has a questionable work ethic and character issues. Yes Randolph is good offensively but the question is if he fits to Kaman and his influence to the team, especially the young guys.
The character of Haslem is already tested, and we all know how badly the Heat are last season. Some players show their colors through losing and even the Heat are already out in the playoffs, Haslem show dedication and professionalism to give out his best despite Miami is out of the running.

Another issue why I will choose Haslem is his friendly contract which is not even close to the salary of Randolph the coming season. For a salary conscious owner, it really surprise me to hear the Clippers trading for Randolph.

I wouldn't mind having Haslem but I don't know how well he would be able to help our team.

He put up 12/9 last season. We don't need a all-star PF. Just someone who knows how to play the game and be productive. We already have Kaman/Thornton/Davis as our main guys. We just need some solid role players I think, and Udonis would fit well in the PF spot.

Haslem really would fit in the PF slot as a solid role player. That way, the team can keep their main guys doing the major damages while the role players do the utility things to help the team win games.

Haslem for Trash Thomas and a 2nd rounder? Done deal as far as I'm concerned. If we can get somebody better at PF, he'd be a great backup. If we can't then at least we'll have 10/10 guy and not Tim Thomas starting.

No way in hell would yall get Haslem for Thomas and a 2nd rounder. LAC doesn't really have any assets we'd want and the one they do (Kaman) isn't going anywhere.

Miami was down with Thomas and Mobley and a 2nd for Banks and Haslem.

lol this was never true. Thats robbery. Tim Thomas is admittedly worthless by Clip fans. And we have no need for a 2 guard because we happen to have a fairly decent one in Dwyane Wade. And Cook is a guy we want to develop to fill in behind me so we don't need anymore depth at that spot.

See what?

Its not going to happen, and this is from a Heat fan that is all for trading Haslem (unlike most Heat fans).

That trade is insane. Throw in Kaman and will throw in Marion, then maybe I'd do it.
