I'm from Turkey so it's rather hard to watch many nba games here, but I think I watched 20 or so Wizards games this year. That's my thoughts on Roger Mason.

here are mason 3pt makes and attempts last season during games where he got 20 or more minutes:

3-4
3-5
2-4
3-9
6-12
3-8
1-6
7-11
9-16
4-14

5-10
3-7
3-9
1-5
8-14

4-7
4-9
5-13
4-9
6-11
6-13
2-8
2-8
7-14

13-20
4-11
1-4
4-7

6-14
5-12
6-9
4-11
3-6
6-8
4-9
2-7
7-11

5-8
10-16
4-10

ive bolded the stretches when his percentages swung by a considerable margin (i tried to catch all the times we swung below 35%). i dont know, but those numbers seem pretty consistent to me. especially if you look at them next to finleys (whos swings were much longer and a good bit worse). his worst month of the year (excluding the first) was in february where shot a poor 33.8%). in fact, if you were to throw out his first month of the season (again, before he started getting consistent PT), mason shot almost 43% from 3. im not sure that qualifies as a streaky shooter.

roger mason is quite a remarkable player, and an even better person.
you guys just got a guard who can light it up with regularity from the outside, and he doesnt need much daylight to get his shot off. and thats not to suggest that he doesnt have a game to the hoop either.
i'm pissed at the wizards, but i understand the salary cap situation.

My issue is that we basically used our MLE for him. He might not be paid for it but it is doubtful that we sign someone else with the remaining portion of the MLE.

All this talk about Azubuike, Azubuike is a RFA, you weren't going to get him. The deal you signed Mason to was quite reasonable, very fair. If he sucked the Wiz board would have been glad to be rid of him, but the opposite is true.

if the warriors are willing to give ronny turiaf 4 mill, i wouldnt be surprised if they signed azubuike for the MLE, theyre just that good at overpaying.
