OT: Health Alert

Post#1 » by BassMaster » Sun Jul 13, 2008 3:13 am

I thought y'all might want to see this considering it's the summer and most of us do this now more then most times of the year. It has to make you wonder.

recently in North Texas. A woman went boating one Sunday taking with her some cans of coke which she put into the refrigerator of the boat. On Monday she was taken to the hospital and placed in ICU. She died on Wednesday.

The autopsy concluded she died of Leptospirosis. This was traced to the can of coke she drank from without using a glass. Tests showed that the can was infected by dried rat urine and hence the disease Leptospirosis.

Rat urine contains toxic and deathly substances. It is highly recommended to thoroughly wash the upper part o f soda cans before drinking out of them. The cans are typically stocked in warehouses and transported straight to the shops without being cleaned.

A study at NYCU showed that the tops of soda cans are more contaminated than public toilets (i.e).. full of germs and bacteria. So wash them with water before putting them to the mouth to avoid any kind of fatal accident.

Thank you I only put this here after a friend emailed me this today. Considering all the problems with food today I wasn't all that sure so I posted it without checking. Next time I have to check and tell my friend she needs to make sure what she is sending me is something true.

My husband regularly sends me e-mail messages of this type. I always run them through urban legends or something else of that type. They always comeback as spurious.

I remember reading all these uses for Coca-Cola and that the company itself uses Coke to clean out their trucks engines...

That's when I was like :o

I used to love Coke... I'll be honest. I still use it for mixed drinks!

My uncle who worked for a police dept for just over 26 years said the police generally use Coca-Cola to remove blood from a street or sidewalk if their is a car accident or shooting or something. He said the Coca-Cola preety much rips the blood out of the concrete. That sounds appealing does it not? Thank goodness I drink milk OJ and water.

So, does this mean you're trusting the non-greedy bastards that are providing the water filters? Or, did you build your own water filter somehow?

Yeah, I thought so.

Besides, if your tap sucks and you're running it through a filter, odds are you'll still be getting the bad stuff. Ever have your water tested? Even then, you're trusting the greedy bastards that provide the water tests to provide an accurate assessment.

Damn, those greedy bastards.
