Rookie of the Year?

Post#1 » by memgrizzlies » Mon Jul 14, 2008 6:26 am

Who do you think will be the Rookie of the Year for the 08-09 NBA Season? We havent gotten to get a good look at Rose or Bealey, so its hard to say one of them. Westbrrok has been very good this Summer League, but will he bring it every game? Is he star potential? Gordon looked good before he went out for the rest of the Summer League. This is not just judging on how they have done so far. Durant didnt pick his game up til the middle of the season. I really see star potential in Mayo. Hes just a very good player and I think he will go very far in his career.

My Rookie of the Year Prediction: OJ Mayo - 19.2 PPG

Who do you think will be the 08-09 Rookie of the Year?

This topic has been beaten to death, but I will answer anyway. My choice is a guy who is not on your list: Greg Oden.

And for the umpteenth time... yes. He is eligible to win the award.

I predict Oden will be 15/10/3 in his rookie year and take home the ROY trophy.

Rawr at the 22 wins. I predict at least 35 wins for the Grizzlies this year.

Ever Blazer fan says its Oden, even deep down they think it should be someone different. But who cares, Greg Oden is very good.

Uh no, deep down I think it will be Greg Oden.

Fans of every team will pick their own player 99% of the time. You did with Mayo. So what?

One Mayo vote so far....
One Grizzlies fan has commented...
Happens to be the same Grizz fan who started the thread.

Look who's calling the kettle black!!!

You forgot Rudy Fernandez, the guy who was #3 on ESPN's early favorites list... and #4 was your boy, Marc Gasol! Didn't Gasol win MVP of ACB over Rudy?

B-Easy ! Rookie of the year is all about Impact and stats. Beasley is going into the perfect sitiuation, Miami had the worst record dispite not having the worst team,so they should improve the victory margin by not tanking alone, while Oden is going into Portland were they surprised alot of people and are expecting oden to take portalnd to the playoffs. Scoring is what beasley does, Oden is a defensive center, so stats are not is M.O

No slot for Danilo Gallinari besides other? What's up with that? He was the 6th overall pick in the draft and you put in guys like Gordon, Bayless and Augustin on there who were clearly drafted after him. Thanks for hatin on the Italian.
