I am an impartial Nets/Mavericks fan, who is just curious to see what CHA fans want out of their team's expected offseason moves. Wallace has been mentioned in several rumors, and Felton doesn't seem to be be much on Larry Brown's mind. AMMO could be sent packing with Carroll and Dudley coming through as useful swingman bench options. And while May says he's healthy, we've heard that song and dance before.
I was wondering which deal (or deals) you would choose to reshape your franchise. Feel free to express your opinions as to why you chose what you chose. The deals are as follows:
Felton/AMMO for Artest - simultaneous 2nd deal of Kenny Thomas for a conditional 2nd (basically, a salary dump for SAC)
Wallace/May/future1st for Boozer/Hart
Wallace/Felton for Jackson/Harrington
Thanks in advance for your feedback.
P.S. I was surprised to read some of your comments about Artest. I thought he'd be the perfect SF for Brown's system, and strangely, I don't see the two having a problem with each other. Ron is crazy sometimes, but other than that, it's hard to knock the guy. He gives maximum effort when he's acting sane.

Re: Which Trade/s Would You Choose?
None of the above. Boozer for Wallace/May would work for me but it fails when you add Hart & the draft pick. Boozer has only 1 year left on his contract and trading for him would be a significant risk for the Bobcats. The price is simply too high once you start adding draft picks. Also the team might be hampered from trading a pick given that they traded next year's first round pick already. I just don't think that it would work from a CBA perspective.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

The ONLY way I do the Utah trade would be if discussions were held with Boozer and his agent, and an acceptable long term extension was agreed to prior to the deal being done. I also would not agree to a 1st round pick (a second would be fine but do they really care)?
Having said that I doubt Utah does this deal anyway. I'd love to get him here.

I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Re: Which Trade/s Would You Choose?
Obviously, agreeing to a Boozer deal would be contingent upon him signing an extension, similar to the Garnett deal. A trade for Artest comes with no such guarantees, but I could see him staying in Charlotte longer that a year, if for no other reason than to play for a coach that would utilize and value his strengths.

Re: Which Trade/s Would You Choose?
I selected the Kings option, here's why:
1. Deal 3 makes us no better. We finally have 2 point guards on the roster. Let's at least give it a couple of months. LB has mentioned Felton a good amount of times, FWIW.
2. The Boozer deal is awesome, but I'm unsure how being able to trade consecutive years' 1st picks plays out when there's pick protection. Further, an inevitable bounce by Carlos would produce the deathblow necessary to kill this franchise once and for all.
3. Bobcats have two fundamental design flaws. Lack of a perimeter defender and productive pf. Artest for certain fills part one. To me, productive PF would encompass someone who outscores his counterpart (something I think Boozer is capable of) or a guy that's a lock down player against the new breed of NBA PF (which I have discussed to death). Artest is that guy. I think he's probably slightly less capable than AK at this role, but Kirilenko isn't on the market.
The option to get both Boozer and Artest is my preference by a long margin, but I don't think it's realistic, so I went for the one I thought was best and likely. (Still though, PG pick up + project big, turning Wallace into Artest and May and Ammo into Boozer would be a successful offseason. Felton/Richardson/Artest/Boozer/Okafor....wow...)

Re: Which Trade/s Would You Choose?
I picked both trades. Getting Boozer is an obvious choice even if we have to give up a pick. That is as long as it's written in stone that he signs.
At that point, could you really turn down Artest for Felton after losing Wallce.....I mean really? I might not be like everyone else here but I don't care what he does as long as he gets it done on the court. If we payed him I think he'd stay. Especially with the kind of team we could have. Sign a semi experienced PG that can play a bit of "D" to be DJ's backup, maybe Dooling like Spectre mentioned on another board and we'd be good to go for now. From there we'd just need to add some depth. Forget the, "are we ever going to make the playoffs?", questions, we'd be looking at contending with the top tier in the east no doubt because we set ourselves up for success.
DJ/Dooling
JRich/Dooling/Carroll
Artest/Dudley
Boozer/Davidson/Ajinça
Okafor/Mohammed

Yeah, I would be sad if that Bobcats lineup was assembled, because it would mean my Nets have zero chance of sneaking into the playoffs!
Seriously, that would be a balanced, rugged lineup, with plenty of quality youth off the bench. Personally, I wouldn't go for Dooling, but you're right, that team would be a veteran backup PG away from raising Ainge's eyebrows.
