My initial gut reaction was Steve Francis. No reason why, but I just felt like they would try to move his contract.

Otherwise, it might be trying to do a 2 for 1 and clear a roster spot. If so, I'm guessing Francis, Novak, and Head could be options. Maybe a S&T of Landry.

Prolly something like Head and Jackson maybe and hopefully. And its not going to be for a 2nd round pick or something, because it said "roster change".

Francis doesn't hardly make any money. Moving his contract is a wasted move.

i see Novak moving - Barry to replace him.
Probably together with Jackson and Head for a PG.

Just my gut feelings.

I highly doubt Jackson is gone in a "Minor" trade..

i think Mike Harris is a decent back-up from what i see.
Maarty? I don't really know much about him.
But yea, my feeling is that Novak and Head would be gone - jackson if a really sweet deal comes along.

Well if we get rid of both Head and Novak it better be to an Eastern team cause I don't want face those 3 point dynamos in the playoffs

Seeing how Novak defend during the season and Head choke in the playoffs.I wouldn't mind that at all.

That's a good point.
However, i was wondering if having 3rd PF reserve would be a safer bet rather than trading him.(assuming that Landry doesn't sign. If he does, yes!)
Futhermore, i cannot think of any team that would use Hayes like we do... any suggestions?

The $2.6mil due Francis may not be much,but it's a wasted spot and dollars for a team trying to avoid lux tax. If his salary is dumped the Rockets would be @$3mil under tax-which might go a long way to re-signing Landry.
But minor probably means Novak is traded to Minn for a second rd pick-or maybe just the right to swap second rd picks.

I hope its either Head, Novak or Hayes. We need either a PG, maybe we cud get another scoring option, a veteran back-up for Yao wud be nice.

Battier,Harris,Greene(R)
McGrady,Barry,Head
Alston,Jackson,Brooks,Francis

Maarty is supposed to spend a yr seasoning in Europe. That leaves 15 under contract-and no Motumbo,or Landry.(Team can only carry 15 at start of season.)
Too many PFs,too many PGs.
My early odds:
Novak 67%
Francis 25%
Hayes 5%
A two for 1 2%
A WTF 1%

yeah jackson's contract is too big for it to big called a minor trade.
the trade probably is gonna be for a decent back-up center since we just released loren woods from his contract and since resigning mutumbo isnt a guarantee

on the sixers board a poster wrote that phila and rockets are discusing a small deal involving steve novak for second pick or cash.

Speculation in Philly is that Novak is being offered to the Sixers. No price has been mentioned. Sorry ITK9, didn't seen that you had already posted this. I would be interested in hearing from Rockets fans about Novak.
