Are you dying for our summer league action to begin?

In the spirit of the AJC's your turn polls, which seem to result in 94% or higher for one answer, I put forth my own softball toss of a poll. While waiting for the next shoe to drop in free agency and being disappointed daily my attention is turning toward Summer League, but our team doesn't hit the floor until Friday. Are you looking for to it begin so we have something to focus on? Or do the scrimmages just not do it for you?

Is there any way to watch the RMR online?

There was some online radio coverage last year. In all my searching I've not found any video information. It's an independent league and doesn't get the same love from NBA.com as the Vegas league. Sadly, we may not get any live summer league joy which I would expect will hurt the polling results.

I'll take any NBA I can get right now. Watching Hawks SL is better than thinking about the disaster of a team the Falcons are going to have this year.

I'm watching Rio because I like the kid, and Acie because if he can turn into an adequate change-of-pace backup, we are a lot better off. Other than that, I'm more interested in the other summer leagues and the high profile rookies from this season... On that note I REALLY want Danilo Gallinari to be good because I like saying his name.

I'm excited for any hawks basketball, even summer league. I just hope we get some archived video so I can watch some of these guys in action.

I will say I am more excited to get this Josh and Josh signing situation figured out though.

I'm more interested than usual due to how inactive we have been since the playoffs. I don't put much stock into SL games but we have so many roster spots that you would figure that someone like Justin Williams would have a good chance to make the team if he plays well.

I think I'm more fascinated by Solomon Jones choosing not to play than I am by anything that actually happens out there.

Normally, my answer would be yes. I like to see how our draft picks do. But since we don't have any draft picks, I'm much less excited. It would be nice to watch the games though if they were available on Webcasts. The Orlando Summer league was available on-line too.

Is there a reason to be excited about any of the players. I'm just hoping Acie plays well, but even if he does, it doesn't mean much. I have no doubt that Horford will dominate.

I'd be pretty shocked if Horford dominated.

??? in summer league. My guess is he'll average something like 15 and 12 in less than 30 minutes a game.

You want to bet on that joe? I'm guessing he will average something like 0 and 0 in less than 1 minute a game.

All joking aside- I would love to see Horford in the Summer league trying to become a go to scorer. Just take the ball out and take some poor schmuck to the hole. Just to try and back down some of the lumbering centers that are probably going to be out there. He has a lot of work to do on offense.

the ajc said that he was going to practice but he wasn't going to play in any games.

i wonder if solomon thinks he's not going to be able to hold on to a place on this team. he also didn't do all that well last year either. i want him to succeed but i don't know if he'll be able to if he doesn't show it.

Well I guess he won't dominate then. I don't really understand why he would not play. Maybe, they want to find a big in summer league, so they are freeing up more minutes for other players? It would be nice to see him. I guess I am just basketball starved.

You can say that again. It's only been like a month since the postseason ended but I'm basketball-starved already. I've been reduced to watching WNBA games just to get some hoop action.
