What about Mutumbo?

Post#1 » by trebone » Tue Jul 15, 2008 9:32 pm

Is he still available and would he come here for the vet min. I read that the rockets havent signed him yet. I would much rather have him than foyle as neither player can put up any offense. I feel Mutumbo is by far the better defender and shot blocker for 12-15min a game. What does everyone think?

I think he might be a FA, but no way he leaves Houston, he loves it there, does a lot of chairty work there with his foundation and loves the community. He declined Boston last year to stay there, so I'm pretty sure he'll stay in houston for his last year in the league.

Mutombo? Armstrong?

Let's see what Cliff Robinson is up to while we're at it.

I would love Mutumbo, but it won't happen.

I think 12-15 mins is a liberal estimation for Foyles PT next year ....

Bringing back Kemp would add serious size to our lineup

Mutumbo would be excellent if we didnt re-sign Foyle...but if he comes back, Houston will have him...dont forget he was their center for a good portion of that 22 game win streak of theirs...

We already have enough centers. How about a real PF at some point.

What about Theo Rattliff? Ra$hard would love him.

... but centers can be crap as we have Superman, so lets look at PF as the above poster said.

Melvin Ely, Cedric Simmons, Reggie Evans and the unloved Ike Diogu could be nice and we could have them for crap, or if our creative financing GM can do anything, maybe he can get involved in a Boris Diaw trade and he could be PERFECT in this system and Hedo would be super expendable, same can be said of Haslem, Al Harrington, Brandon Bass, Channing Frye, Nene and others.

Tractor Traylor is looking good in summer league. We could give him a Big Mac to sign with us.

he wont come here, but i love the guy. amazing what a guy at that age can still do in the league - not to mention the charity he does.

*tips hat. a legend indeed.

No, No No (picture finger wag). Not going to happen. We need to see what Gortat and Cook can do as the 2nd and 3rd bigs off the bench. (the five man rotation - D12, RL, Battie, Gortat & Cook)...barring injury, I strongly doubt that will change at least up to the trade deadline.

Mutumbo has a great career and probably gives Houston another year...

When Foyle resigns, there will no longer be a need for a combo big.
