Tracy McGrady trade talks?

Post#1 » by J-Mezzy » Tue Jul 15, 2008 9:49 pm

I just saw a Sports center preview and it said that Stephen A chump has some info indicating that McGrady might be on the block.

Any of you heard of this?

Perhaps Stephen A is going through withdrawals from lack of cheez doodles. But is this the whole DET trade thing?

If this has anything to do with that warmed over Detroit Pistons story I'm locking this as there is already numerous threads centered around that.

Until anyone shows up on the Chron, I don't buy ANY info on trades indicating McGrady.

They finally mentioned it again. It is a 2 hr sportscenter so they may just be using any story to kill some time. It should be coming up soon. I hope. I'm not much of a baseball fan and I've had to put up with the crap just waiting on McGrady story

Easy. Post-trade or definitive formal talk sources. Everything else is speculation and chaff.

Post-trade? At that point there's nothing to 'trust' as it's already happened!

But yeah Stephen A's whole MO is based on wild speculation and sensationalizing it. That said, as far as ESPN reporting goes, Marc Stein and Ric Bucher are pretty good. They usually only report stuff when serious talks have actually gone down (they seem to have good inside sources) rather than things like "so-and-so is on the block" when in reality no talks have even occurred.

untrusted source
1. Hoopsworld - they made up their own story. few years back when everyone were saying Finley is heading to San Antonio, they came up with a story that he's heading to Miami instead. just showing you how unreliable they are
2. BSPN (basically AS and PV) - these two basically just suck, none of the stuffs they said were true

i trust
1. Chron
2. Cluthfans (posted by Clutch)

The big thing out of it was T-mac says he is interested in going to the pistons.
He loves Houston and just wants to win. So yes Detroit is a possibility...

Yeah. It is.

But since I don't trust CJballa14 to accurately summarize what he heard...

FOCUS: Sources I trust:

1. Chron. (But not that idiot, Blinebury.)
2. 1560 AM.
3. Mark Berman @ Fox26. (Though it pains me to say I trust anyone at any Fox affiliate.)
4. Keith Olbermann.
5. Reuters.
