McCalebb has looked pretty good at the point tonight as well. He looks to have a lot of defensive intensity. He might not stick around, but I wouldn't mind if he got an invite to camp.

I think thompson is looking very good but there is no way I would want him playing SF. I think he would be great at the PF spot. He just won't have the lateral speed to keep up with smaller SF's. However his speed at the PF spot will be a huge advantage.

Singeltary reminds me of a slightly more talented version of Chris Duhon. I think Singeltary will have a very solid career and will probably be the main backup at PG this year.

Yeah I'm liking what I'm seeing so far. Jason definitely looks more comfortable than he did in the first game. I'm also mostly liking what I'm seeing from Shelden, Quincy and Singletary.

Yeah me too, Quincy is scoring more and doing it more efficiently. However, he needs work on his ball-handling so he can drive to the basket more to draw fouls, Jason He's like a young less athletic Shawn Kemp, His ball handling is very good for his height and he also has the unique ability to change directions on the move.

Even though, Douby isn't really a true PG. He could be a good 2 way tweener. I like what I see from him. He is efficient with his shots.

Hawes hasn't really had a chance to post up this game. None of the guards are able to get him the ball down there.

Yeah, I know. But he gets double teamed as well. That doesn't helps.

Jason should have gone more straight up on the drive to the hoop. He had the step, but then hung in the air for too long. But that's something that he can learn to work on.

Yeah, Im impressed about Jason's speed (Considering that he is a PF and 6'11'') Even though, I know he was very mobile before. He should have dunked it if he went more straight.

Fugly game down the stretch...

Really liked what I saw from Jason tonight. Good athleticism and energy, just needs to work on his skill development. I have high hopes for him. Continue to like Singletary, especially on the defensive end. Also liked what I saw from Quincy on the defensive end...but I'm torn with him on the offensive side (kinda like what I see, but don't know if he is going to have what the team needs in the long run). Shelden showed more promise, but the question marks are still there. Hawes had an unfortunate quite night, but nothing I'm going to get down on him about.

Singletary hasn't played the pick and roll very well at all. He isn't even looking for the screener, he really needs to clean that up, 6 assists as a team is laughable even if it is summer league.

Jason looked good. He is just such a tough matchup at the 3 that I really hope he sees time at that spot quite a bit at the NBA level. He gaurded Batum very well and just plowed right through Batum on the other end.

Spencer had a rough game. Not a lot of looks for him in this one, most of his makes and misses were garbage type buckets.

Douby could've put the game away just my making one of those free throws and I wasn't too happy with his shot selection on that final play.

Jason Thompson's and1 was the clincher. I really like his playing style, with his ability to drive to the basket and get to the line. I just wish he could finish more inside, but that'll improve as he develops. I liked him on the offensive end too.

Hawes' game was just off and nowhere near as efficient as last time.

Douby did a nice job of scoring, but I just wish he could do a better job handling the ball and getting others involved.

Both Williams and Singletary were pretty impressive for the most part and I was happy with how the performed.

Ok, this Bayless madness has to stop now. We already have Bayless on this team, only his name is Quincy Douby, who can't get off the bench. He's exactly what we DON'T need from the PG position.

Thompson was terrific. He's going to have to adjust to dealing with NBA bigs, but man is he talented for his size. Great athlete, great size, just a raw talent. I'm really liking the pick now, especially watching Thompson play like this.

Not too bad of a game over all.

Like others, I was disappointed with Spencer's game, but I'm not worried. He just still needs to put on more weight. He doesn't have to become really bulky or anything, he just has to be able to hold position down low. I think that, along with some kind of selfish guard play is what kept him from getting any really nice post-up opportunities in this game. That and his shot was just generally off. His D wasn't bad though.

I really liked what I saw from Jason. I think people underrate him in the same way that they kind of did Brandon Roy when he was coming out of college (not saying he'll be that good, just using it as an example). I think the assumption that he can't be a really good player just because he's more of an "all-around" player than a guy who stands out in a particular area is false. This guy can be quite a good player in this league.
And I would like him for stretches at SF, but when push comes to shove, there is just no way that I'm trusting a 6'11, 250 pounder to be a starting SF in this league. It's nice that he can do a nice job on some SFs in summer league, but he just won't be quick enough laterally to stay with the great SFs of the league. No way.
However his quickness both laterally and off the dribble are pretty damn awesome for a guy his size. This tells me that he could afford to add some weight while still maintaining a great advantage in this respect. If he adds some weight he could improve on his post D. I think his potential as a PnR/perimeter defender is already pretty damn good though. And offensively, there won't be many PFs that will have a shot at staying with him.

With Quincy, well, I think we can at least say that we know what we have, and I think the guy definitely will have a place in this league. And it's too bad, because if were about 2 inches taller and quite a bit stronger, he could be a damn fine SG in this league. But the fact of the matter is that the guy just doesn't have an ounce of PG blood in him. He'll have a place in this league, but probably not with this team unless some things change in the future. We either have to have a situation where he can basically play SG or he has to develop some inkling of a PG mentality--not even a lot, we're just talking like a Terry or a prime B-Jax--just so that the guy's mentality isn't to try to score every single time he has the ball.

Singletary continued to impress. I agree that his PnR defense could have been better, but you also have to consider that a) I think a lot of his mistakes came from being overly aggressive, which is a good thing in many ways and b) they were giving out fouls to both teams like they were candy on Halloween, which is pretty annoying, really. But over all, he looks to have great potential as a defender if he can just stay a little more under control and he also looks to have a nice combination of offensive skills.

Shelden once again looked nice, doing mostly what I would expect of him. He still has some things to work on offensively, but he really can become a nice mid-range shooter, and while his post game isn't pretty, he just has to be competent down there, and he's relatively close to being just that. But he defended and rebounded well and he does seem to be in shape and able to add a nice dose of toughness to our front line.
