I have never heard of the #3 for Jay Williams & #7 rumor ... I'm not calling it bogus, but I have a hard time believing the Nuggets would consider passing on Anthony (or Darko , move down 4 spots -dropping them out of the Bosh/Wade race as well - just to get Jay Williams.

There was a rumored Patrick Ewing trade that involved the Pistons (i believe they replaced the Suns). Basically Detroit got back a ton of garbage. Mark Cuban, of all people, stepped in and advised Joe Dumars to back out of this trade. The Mavericks then hooked up Detroit by taking on Loy Vaught, Christtian Laettner and others for Dana Barros, Cedric Ceballos and some other filler.

This is true. The Jazz were offered a lot for AK before they got Boozer.

Mark Cuban tried repeatedly to get AK47 from the Jazz. However this was at the time the Jazz were building around Andrei and they considered him "untouchable". I believe the proposed Dirk for AK trade happened before Dirk was an All-Star/MVP.
