Olympic qualifications

I know Canada sucks.
Dalambert managed 4points with 2 rebounds vs Slovenia and Rasho Nesterovic. Is this a cause for concern? He should be more effective, at least on defensive end, Rasho more or less scored at will.

I saw this game and he looked very bad. He doesn't look like he is in shape but that's not the problem.
He's just not suited for the play as the best player on a team. He was their low post presence and that's where the problem starts. Against Nesterovic he tried to go one on one like a guard as he does every time for games for the fun. Of course it didn't work and that's the way he shot 1-7 from the field. On defense Nesterovic played with him but again SammyD didn't look like as he would be in shape.
He just needs his role on a team where he plays defense and rebounds and get the easy baskets.

It is still kind of worrisome that he was abused by a second-tier big man such as Rasho. His game was fundamentally flawed as ever. I have still kept the scene in my mind when he was trying to defend a high pick and roll, being later completely out of position.

I am sure he will rebound in the next game, but the first game was pretty ugly and a reminiscence of old days.

Nesterovic plays a lot better in international tournaments than he does in the NBA but of course Dalembert has to play better.

Perhaps Sammy has already played his last game. He got suspended for game 2 because he had some ill words with his coach. Kanada got just the lead back at 78-77 after they were down 67-77 with 2min to left. not too bad.

I hope Sammy gets another chance in that tournament and hopefully so against Germany so that I can see him and against Dirk and Kaman.

It's still speculation with Dalembert's absence in game 2 and it's "Canada"

Sammy got released from the team unfortunatly. Don't really know what happened, but it was a pretty nice comeback by Canada in the 2nd half.
