We're overlooking 1 important aspect in this. Morey said minor move to add some roster flexiblity. Minor move implies 1 player which means the Rockets will open up 1-ONE-spot on the roster. The teams needs a back-up C and we're assuming the Rockets will sign Motumbo. Leaves no room at the inn for Landry.

Don't need to make room for anyone until they are signed. Landry will be a Rocket if the only thing in the way is an open spot....I promise you that others will go first if that is all that would hold up signing him in the end.

Novak for a 2nd or cash is most likely what will happen at this time and it would probably open a spot for Dorsey first.

it has to be a player for cash trade cause we need to free up a roster spot. if we trade novak we better get a 2nd rounder.

francis isn't going anywhere via trade unless he is packaged. Whether or not he and jackson are packaged and traded at the deadline all depends on steve's performance during the first half. if he puts up deent numbers then they'll keep him cause it'll be worth the $2mill. IMO, jackson is a gone for sure. if steve plays bad it'll be jackson and steve. if head plays bad it'll be head and jackson.

- BJax is a valuable expiring contract, so I don't expect him to be involved whatsoever.

- Whether or not Donte Green is ready for big minutes off the bench is TBD, so twe might need to keep Luther around for a little bit longer just in case. That along with the fact that Luther's contract is expiring leads me to believe that Luther isn't involved in this.

- Chuck is our 3rd string PF, and now that we have a solid 3 man PF rotation it makes me think that we're keeping Chucky around - even after the trade deadline. Also, the fact that Landry hasn't been re-signed also leads me to believe that we aren't shipping any PFs away this early. Therefore, Chuck stays.

The most logical option is Novak. He hasn't proved that he belongs on an NBA court, and the Brent Barry signing pretty much renders Novak useless. Also don't forget that Philly is in need of a shooter, so it's pausible to think that they would give up cash/2nd round pick for a guy they think might be the next Korver.

We should keep Novak and give him some decent playing time to give him a chance before we trade him because we could have the next Korver on our bench and we just don't realise it. Yes his D sucks but there are times where we just need to make a sacrifice to gain what we need which is scoring. From the brief minutes he gets he does seem to contribute to the offense with his shooting and after the playoffs last year he deserves more time than Luther.

According to Hoopsworld, now we're looking to move Novak and Dorsey in a deal for a center. Locked a thread about it becuase if you havw been here for a while, you know Hoopsworld is the devil.

ToSweet,
Rockets have 14 under contract. The NBA only lets you have 15. Dorsey,Motumbo and Landry are unsigned as of now. 3 players can't take 1 spot, nor can they take 2. To sign all three the Rockets would have to get rid of 2 players, not just 1.

I doubt that we trade Dorsey , hoopsworld is just speculating imo.
I think we will trade Novak for cash and then sign Landry and Dorsey.
If we sign Deke as well , Mike Harris will be cut.

It's probably nothing, maybe like Novak for a second, or something of that nature.
