Information consolidation post.

moofs wrote:Haha that's a cheap shot!

"I spoke with McGrady earlier [3 months ago? Was it even about this topic or something else?]. His basic thing is that he's very happy in Houston, but he wants to win."

[McGrady, 'No, I wouldn''t encourage a trade <(sic) to Detroit>. I'm happy in Houston. I like winning here']
[Stephen A, 'Houston is a perennial </b/b/b/b/b/b/bEVERY YEARS> loser.']
[Stephen A, 'He definitely wants out of Houston.']
[Stephen A, 'Controversy! Ratings! Money! Men! Erm, I mean women. Ahem.']
[Stephen A, 'I LIKE CHEESE DOODLES BECAUSE THEY LOOK LIKE.. BECAUSE THEY ARE DELICIOUS.']

Almost guaranteed the first sample sentence from McGrady some time ago is all that was ever said, and maybe not even to Stephen A (he never says that any of his conclusions actually derived from talking with McGrady in any way - meanwhile I've heard McGrady say things almost exactly to that tune on the local news to help quell trade rumors with fans). It's easy to twist facts. Keep this in mind if you ever see me ranting about a corporate news outlet - if THE AMAZING SAS can twist facts to mislead that easily, how well could someone with half a brain do it?

Maybe we could get the taco bell chihuahua to kick him in the balls.

P.s. Not that I liked Al Gore, but read up on how his "I invented the internet" "quote" came into being. I'll give you a hint, he never said it.

vator wrote:Since when does sombody asking you would you mind playing for the Pistons and you respond with "I just want to win" mean that you wouldn't mind being traded to said team. Especially when you also say that you are "very happy in Houston"

This is nothing more than old news rehashed and passed off as new news by a guy obviously twisting a comment to suit his own purposes. This would have been real news had the response been something along the lines of, yeah I wouldn't mind playing for the Pistons. Instead we get twisted words. No need for a new thread here...same old crap with a little cheese doodle sprinkled on top for added flavor.

moofs wrote:Stephen A obviously made his rumor up because there was another one out there and he's an opportunistic fungus.

The other one is this:
http://blog.mlive.com/fullcourtpress/20 ... g_pit.html

All search results cite "metronews.ca". Why would a news outlet in Canada know about a trade between Detroit and Houston before anyone else? It's stupid made-up garbage. The trade doesn't even make sense to begin with, and the rumor source makes less sense.

Every other rumor I've seen is coming from people talking about these two without citation. Morey has said he's keeping McGrady, McGrady has said he wants to be here, and as someone reminded me yesterday, we were a 55 win team (i really can't believe i stopped paying attention to our win total last year) last year with tons of major injuries. What possible motivation could everyone involved have for wanting to lie so much if this isn't just some stupid newsmongering rumor? Again, news people will twist anything to make a story.

The fact that no one stops talking about it only means that no one actually bothers to look into it and just keeps talking without any information, which is never a good thing.

This article was posted on here not too long ago, but I advise EVERY Rockets fan to read it. It should put an end to the Mcgrady trade rumors.

As much as I hate Screamin' A, he picked Michael Curry as the Piston successor long before anyone else. So he's not a complete liar.

But I doubt McGrady is coming to Detroit anytime soon, mainly because Houston would probably want Stuckey and there's no chance in hell Dumars does that.

Wow. Wow wow wow wow wow. Now THIS is some **** reporting.

A canadian website says something. THE AMAZING SAS twists it. Now Detroit's news twists it some more before reporting the truthful side.

I DESPISE saying it - THE AMAZING SAS actually did a better job of reporting than these guys. At least all his facts were right, if completely and intentionally misleading.

**** I hate the media.

Pistons fan here. I would do a Billups and Sheed or Prince for TMac and filler. I am sure Joe would have to make a few more moves like Prince because of that and put TMac at SF. But, I read some posts here crackin on Rip. But, the dude plays good D and has great handles and I witnessed too many games where he leads the team in assists and even dishes out in the double figures. He is very underappreciated and is a steal at his salary. Thus, he is the main Piston, besides Stuckey that I would want to keep. Anyone else is expendable.

Regardless of how "interested" Mac is in joining the Pistons, it doesn't matter because he isn't the Houston Rockets GM. I don't expect Morey to move Mac, but with rumors like these you gotta start wondering...if the Rockets don't perform as well as expected, will T-mac "shut it down" on us? I sure hope not.

Sometimes I get the feeling that if(when :) )the Rockets are playing Boston in Game 7,some reporter will announce that MCGrady will be traded at half-time.

I can easily see SAS saying Detroit's interested, what do you think about that T-Mac? McGrady prob answered something like "Wow,I appreciate the fact that Detroit would want me as I think Dumars is a great GM. But I want to win and I think Yao and I have a great chance here in Houston." Meanwhile McGrady is thinking "How effing stupid are you? In 2 yrs I'm a free agent and no way Houston brings me back if we don't get it done. I'm going to be kissin' GM butts around the League so hard I'm investing in chapstick! Of course I loooove Joe Dumars. I'm going to looooove every GM who will have cap space. Miss out on LeBron? Wade? Bosh? Don't fret Mr Depressed GM,I'll sign on the dotted line and get your fans all excited. Hey,I'll even do a shoe w/the city skyline on it if you'll sign me."

If there is such a thing as "Pistons DNA", then Mcgrady is the complete extreme opposite. No defense whatsoever, doesn't make teammates better, never won ANY_THING, never stays healthy, and ridiculously over-paid for the next 2 years, selfish, and at this stage of his career spends the vast majority of the time jacking up 3's.

I got that from the pistons board and besides the health part it made me laugh

Someone's never watched McGrady play in anything but an All-Star game.

Return to Houston Rockets
