Who has more value-Smoove vs. Andris

Post#1 » by GSWfAnViNnY » Wed Jul 16, 2008 8:29 pm

I want to know who has more value overall. AtL fans And GSW fans have been arguing about it off and on. I say andris because it is harder to find a good C

Smith has a much larger impact on the game. He's more valuable in my mind. You can always stick some defensive guy at the C spot simply because it is the weakest position in the NBA.

if andris had any sort of offensive game (like chris kaman) i'd go with him, since he doesn't i'll go with josh smith.

WTF "C spot simply because it is the weakest position in the NBA" Dwight Howard is weak...Gasol is weak...Yao actually is weak but what about Horford...Tim Duncan is weak...David Robinson was weak...Amare, Chandler, Okur, and Bynum are all weak? that is just what you said.

No that's not really what he was saying. His point was you can put a guy like Diop at C (defensive center with absolutely no offensive game) and still be get by. There are only about 10 great centers, give or take a few. And since Biedrins has no offensive game, there's really no good argument you can make to prove he's more valuable than Josh Smith.

I know that most fans would value Smith over Biedrins, but contrary to the posts listed here, Biedrins does have an offensive game. Will it be utilized in a Don Nelson offense? No. But he has a solid jump hook, a great up and under and his quickness allows him to get by slower C's in the league.

Smith does without a dought
But Biedrens means more to us,thats why we wouldnt trade him straight up for smoove we have no center, point would be to team Smoove up with Beans

Smith has more value around the league but Biedrins has more value to the Warriors.

Biedrins is really efficient in an up-tempo transition offense... and is at the same time likewise a good rebounder and shot-blocker at that pace.

Smith is a better shot-blocker, a very good rebounder and a mediocre to bad offensive player much of the time, though he has his moments, is young and continues to develop.

Smith by a mile, for me.

They arent "true" centers. And yes, center is very weak when compared to fowards.

Pats, Duncan is pretty much an iconic center in every sense of the word.

Low-block scorer? Check. Defensive anchor and excellent shot-blocker? Check. Dominant rebounder? Check. 6'11, 260? Built like a center... Rarely operates outside of 15 feet? Check, he takes about 2 shots from beyond 15 feet a game.

Duncan is a classic center, he's just called a 4 because he guards 4s as often as not so he can roam on D, trap and contest shots.
