Oh yeah, and here's an idea I got.
Seeing as how we are thin at the PG position and need a true backup PF, i thought this would be a good idea. Also, the Grizzlies, except for OJ Mayo, don't have a SG. They are stacked at the PG, which we need, so I believe they would like this deal better than the proposed Magic deal where they get a second round pick and Keith Bogans for Crittenton.
Memphis trades Javaris Crittenton, Hakim Warrick, and Greg Buckner for Leandro Barbosa, Alando Tucker, and a future second.
Rationale:
1) We get a solid 3.5mil 2010 expiring contract in addition to our 3 others. Decent enough.
2) We get a true PF to play the PF, allowing Diaw to shift back to his preffered SF position where he seems to flourish as a starter. (Reference: look at all the games he started after the SHAQ trade when shaq wasnt playing and check his stats. sweet life?).
3) We get the perfect fit for our backup PG position in Crittenton. This guy is athletic, likes to play defence, pass first like Nash (not as good ofcourse) and can get to the rim at will. Also, he can play the shooting gaurd with his amazing size and versitility. This guy is cheap. Only thing he lacks is a good shot, but he can be good when left wide open and he isnt really that bad at shooting, just not great.
All we lose is a chucker in Barbosa, (yeah he can score, its the easiest thing to do in the game. Zach Randolph can score too you know) a first round pick who posses skill and can someday be a half-decent NBA player (think, Jarvis Hayes with much more athletisicm), and a second round pick in the late 40's or 50's. Good value for both teams? (Come on, im bashing our team but Barbosa fits perfectly at the SG if you have Mayo starting (this guy can kill people on defence), and tucker can be their backup for Rudy Gay. They dont need Warrick or Buckner because lets face it, Buckner flat out sucks cause of his age and Warrick is going to be replaced by Darrel Arthur.
Thoughts?
