If we could get rid of Mobley and Thomas' contract then I wouldn't mind option 3.. Although Dunleavy would have to put Randolph on a leash and bench his ass if he played selfishly.

Although not ideal, I could see us going after AI2 more than Deng. We'd still have the option to look for a trade to fill the 4 spot.
Where did you hear the $70 mil over 5 years?

For us to get say Iggy and then trade for Randolph, we'd have to make the salaries match. Since we'd be unloading probably both TT and Mobley to help facilitate this, then maybe we also send that Minny protected 1st-round pick that we've been waiting forever to cash in on.
We'd be thin on the bench, but could gradually address that over the next year or 2 with MLE space.
But if Randolph is a bust and we have to bench him, Randolph will sink this team for the next couple of years due to his salary. Better hope Gordon pans out in a big way...

As far as swingmen go, the following could be had for 2 mil or less:
Bonzi
Kareem Rush
Barnes
Mo Evans
Ross
George.
Our real need is a banger to back up Kaman and Camby. Someone like Skinner or ideally Kurt Thomas. Unfortunately I don't think Thomas is feasible.
I think we could get Skinner for 2.5 mil though. That and I think we could sign one of Rush, Barnes, or Evans for the min. I would go for Rush and re-sign Ross since we have his bird rights still I believe. That and offer Magliore the min., which I think he would take.

I really like 1840s merchant vessels. Basketball on the other hand, I can take it or leave it...

Although Barnes would be a good fit with Baron since they have played together before....he is probably asking for more $$$....so I'm not sure if you can get him cheap. Rush would probably come cheap. He's a solid roleplayer that can hit the 3pt shot and should do fairly well with a playmaker like Baron.
