His playoffs was very overrated. He was really good in the finals. Made a bunch of big shots. He was invisible for most of the EC playoffs.

I didn't watch much of the Pistons & Cavs Series. But he was killing the Hawks, hitting big shots crunch time.

I hate Posey. I give him props because he is a solid player but he is a down right dirty player.

Finley can hit shots if the team is good enough, like SA was last year, so he hit some clutch shots, but saying that he was hustle guy and good defender is stretching it. The dude sucks at defense, even in his prime, so don't say that a player of his caliber can replace Posey who is a nice scorer, but primary a big ass guy who can defend his a$$ off. Finley is just a nice scorer, who is slow and old.

And somehow all the championship teams have one or two dirty guys and the pretenders do have a couple of nice players with good attitude. Give me a mo' focker like Rodman, Bowen, Posey, Sheed, etc. They have fire...

Are you guys kidding me. I know we are Magic fans.

But as long as they have Allen, Pierce, and Garnett still on the team and healthy. They are still the best team in the NBA and in the east.

Losing Posey does hurt but not to a point but lets not go crazy.

I'm of the opinion that Posey is now seriously overrated. The Hornets may regret that pay day.

As for the Celtics replacing him? I'm not so sure. I don't think they'd be as good with him so without him they are surely worse off. Bad enough to where we can catch them? Doubt it. But we could of beat'em this year and we'll beat'em next year for sure.

The 4 wins they had against the Hawks were blowouts.

Posey defense isn't that great. Pierce is a much better perimeter defender. Lebron, Kobe, Rip ate up Posey when he was guarding them. That is why the Heat had questions if they wanted him back. His last year with the Heat perimeter players were putting on a clinic on Posey. You remember Posey didn't get much interest in free agency last year. He signed a 1 year deal for part of the Mle. 1 year later I guess they are on the decline because they don't have posey.

Finley on the Celtics would be fine defensively. The Celtics played better defense with Posey on the bench anyway. Yeah they would miss his hustle plays. That is not enough for them to loose to much sleep.

Posey is a good player. He has made some big plays in his career. He is a decent signing for the MLE. The Celtics could miss him if they don't fill the hole at all. He can be replaced though.

+1 year older. They are still a top team you are right, I wouldn't worry if I were them.. unless they cant find a replacement. The bench will be kinda thin

they wanted him for 2 years @MLE which seems very logical to me. He is definitely a good piece but not awesome. What Boston calculated was; if they match Hornet's offer, adding up luxury tax, it will cost them 50M $. they did not value him that much. logical.
He is not worth that much now, and he wont get any better.

Posey is worth that contract for the first year or 2 but after that he will start to become overpaid and old as he reaches 35 years old.

He had a great postseason and got his payday. You gotta give him some props on that.

Plus they are in good shape for the 2010 sweepstakes - that's when ray ray (18 mill) comes off the books.

This is still a big loss for the Celtics. Yea Garnett is the main guy who brought them the title but Posey was HUGE for them off their bench. He was the guy who could go in for Pierce and Ray and play great defense and hit clutch shots. Now I don't see anyone on their roster who is going to step in and make that contribution as a role player.

Maybe I am wrong but this seems like a big loss. I understand why Boston didn't resign him (4 yr/25 mil). But I don't see who is going to fill that role for them.

The only limitation for the Celts is depth. So any bench depth lost is actually making the darkness more black. Garnett, Allen, and Pierce are not spring chickens. They cannot play 40+ minutes a game. Boston sold their future for one title (which is unquestionably a wise choice). But their window will slam shut now.

this makes me happy for 2 reasons. 1. the celtics just lost their best perimeter defender (look at the past champions and they've all had at least on, celtics-posey, spurs-bowen, heat-posey, spurs-bowen, pistons-prince, spurs-bowen). 2. my favorite team out west is the hornets so i'll be happy to see them contending for a championship with the addition of posey.
I live rent free in your head. You know who you are :D

Not changing this sig until Magic win a championship. Started 6/26/2015.

No way you put Posey in that class. Especially when Pierce is their best perimeter defender. Its not even close.
