of course they would. AI is old and on a giant contract.

Hey, does this means Nuggets fans can't zing Raptors fans about the Carter trade anymore?

:D

Poor guys, that's one of the worst moves I've seen in a while and we've seen some doozies lately. No franchise deserves that, so I hope there's some kind of really earth-shattering follow-up.

It would also require a 1st rounder, along with an MLE center or an expiring contract.

A lottery pick. I think Melo is the most overrated player in the game. He scores and rebounds but can't do anything else at all. Why have the Nuggets struggled so bad if he's this amazing top 10 player, especially with a DPOY in Camby and a HOF in Iverson. He's a blackhole and he'll never win a championship being "the man."

Being realistic however, I'm sure many gms feel he is a max contract superstar.

He was making an analogy...

Drexler:Jordan :: Melo:LeBron

His main issue is that he plays in a bad system under a bad coach. If the Nuggets FO is smart enough, they could restructure the team around him within a couple of seasons and become contenders.

Melo is a great talent, but if he was to be on a contending team he would need to be playing second fiddle and not in an offense built around him. I don't know why but I still see a lot of the "big dog" in him.

no I get it completely. He's comparing Melo's status to that of Drexler's during the Jordan years, but it's still not comparable or a good analogy at all.
