Is Denver Rebuilding?

Post#1 » by cavsfan_osiris » Wed Jul 16, 2008 5:50 pm

What in the world is going on with the Nuggs?

A) They are rebuilding
B) They are retooling for another run
C) Stuck in limbo
D) Unsure of which direction to go

If they are rebuilding they have a funny way of going about it i.e. retaining George Karl, resigning A.Carter. If they are retooling for a run they have a funny way of going about it i.e. letting Najera and Camby go.

If they want to be stuck in limbo they're doing a great job.
much respect to the 2011-2012 champions, Miami Heat, well deserved

Limbo or unsure.

They also traded away this year's 1st. If they're rebuilding, why not use it to get a cheap young player to develop?

The Denver FO is saying they did this to get the TE. Which gives them the ability to make a move later.

Don't think many are holding their breaths on that one.

ya Im a little confused about the moves denver has or hasnt made, the Biggest one was not firing George Karl after 3 playoff wins in 4 years, Im also disapointed in seeing Najera go as well.

But it did make my day when I found out we dealt Camby, even though it was for pretty much nothing its good to know that we wont have the most over-rated defender in this league.

cheap management that won't pay the luxury to bring a title to the town instead just be a mediocre team in the high powered western conference.....its sad

bring a title to the town?

I hope you werent expecting the Nuggets to contend for a championship with Camby and the current team we have now, there is no point to pay the lux tax when we get knocked out of the playoffs in the 1st round every year.

WHOA, hold on. our management is on CHEAP. just (Please Use More Appropriate Word)...

Honestly, losing Najera was a bigger deal than dumping Camby...if only other teams GMs considered him as valuable as realgm posters do...

First of all, the Nuggets have been in the luxury tax the past two year, and in all likely hood are going to be in that terriotory again this year. Second, they have the third (?) highest payroll in the league. You can't really call mgmt cheap when their spending more than almost every other team out there.

The problem is, Kronke is smarter than Dolan, and he's not gonna keep shelling out that kind of money if its not netting any results. The team as currently constructed wasn't going to win the title, hell they couldn't even get our of the first round.

We've got a core of Carmelo (24), JR (22), Nene (25) and Linas Kleiza (23). We're in perfect shape to ride out the dominance in the West, especially with an absolutely block buster expiring contract, and two #1s next year. The front office has had a plan, and I'll admit I've criticized them all along, but they've really put the Nuggets in a great position.

Retooling would be the term to use. We aren't in rebuilding mode, we're just waiting out the period of Western conference dominance and we'll make the moves at the appropriate time.

Why give away a player like Camby for nothing though? At least get a draft pick.

So far there isn't much to hope they have a plan, with how poorly they are handling things.

I'd agree with everything here, but the fact that Karl is still coaching me question this 'plan' big time.

It isn't a we traded for AI and are trying to win now plan, that's for sure.

And even if it was to save money, THAT DOES NOT EXCUSE, not getting at least a draft pick back.

If the Nuggets are rebuilding then as a Bulls fan I am willing to offer Derrick Rose, Luol Deng, Ben Gordon and Larry Hughes for Iverson, Melo and Atkins. Would you accept?

Nuggets aren't rebuilding.

More evidence, the story what the Nets offered for Camby. If the story is true.
