As an example, this is the whole O-Sen recap of Johnson's career:
Pos.: PG Ht./Wt.: 6-3, 195 pounds Age: 33

2007-08 stats: 5.6 ppg, 3.8 apg.

Career highlights: Dished 14 assists last season against Utah. ... Ranked No. 13 in assists-to-turnover ratio last season (262 assists to 84 turnovers). ... Scored 40 points in a 2006 playoff game.

Off court: Johnson has a custom-design door and window business called "AJ Custom Doors." His company designed doors for the Dallas Mavericks' locker room.

That's the total recap!

O-Sen: Meet the Orlando Magic's Anthony Johnson

.. and BTW to the "Ranked No. 13 in assists-to-turnover ratio last season...," WWOOWW!!!

I already liked this signing. Now I love it!

We are suppose to use locals for the arena to stimulate OUR economy. I'll be pissed off if they give him a deal to do the doors for more than just the locker room..lol

Personally I am relieved that things are turning the corner for my favorite ball club. I'm happy for Otis that this team is really taking shape. We've been steadily improving, year after year, just wait guys, things are really looking up for the club.

Thief, what's this I hear that you are leaving? Where to?

Since we're on the subject, Diener finished 4th (4.56 ast/to ratio)

Oh yes, the great Diener. Too bad he can't guard anybody.

He could probably guard Redick.

He would be nice as a 3rd string PG though.

I'm glad to see the good turnover ratio stats for AJ.

I have to admit I have gotten a little worried about the Pietrus signing since it has time to sink in... What were the Magic's 2 worst faults, faults that were exposed in the playoffs?

Missed Free Throws and Turnovers...

I would put defense behind those two at least. Even though I know Rip shredded our D at the spot that Pietrus will anchor, I'm a little worried that the guy that is supposed to bring the D that we need will also bring turnovers and below 70% free throw shooting.

Don't take this the wrong way, I'm still stoked to have him... Just a little worried that we may have more tunovers than the 05-06 season, and a glaring free throw descrepancy that could cost alot more close games. :-?

That is actually a very good point. However, I think Pietrus positives for our team will outweigh his negatives and he will be huge in trying to stop the all star perimeter players in the league.

The free throw thing, when you look at what San Antonio has done while being one of the worst FT shooting teams in the league for years (Duncan/Bowen) and what teams with Shaq have done despite the terrible FT percentage, it shows that bad free throw shooting can be overcome. FT shooting is important, but whats more important is when are those FT's attempted. The guys hanlding the ball and making shots down the stretch (Hedo/Jameer/Lewis) are good FT shooters. I think the lack of perimeter defense, athletecism and lenght was a bigger factor than FT shooting last year.

I too believe that Pietrus' positives will outweigh his negatives, it's just his negative's will be magnified and compounded by the team as they have some of the same. My concern is really Dwight, as he is still turn over prone and a bad free throw shooter. You add Pietrus into the mix, and now there's 2 main guys that you can target/harrass that may cough up the ball or go to the line and miss FT%

Now both of their upsides are so great that I'm hoping this won't be an issue, but let's just say I won't be suprised if it is...

The team needs a dedicated free throw/shooting coach, get dwight into the high 60s and then work on the down the line with rest of the team. I think our turnovers will improve this year. Maybe not a whole bunch, but as we got into the later part of the year we did much better, playoffs not withstanding

Yea I agree with getting a really good free throw shooting coach for Dwight and whoever else needs it. I think I saw a while back on ESPN them saying how Dallas has a great free throw coach who helps them almost always be at the top of the league in free throw %. Somebody like that definitely would help.

I suspect Howard is a 80+% FT shooter in practice. The problem of shooting FTs after a 260 pound wunder-kind lands on your back is not a practicable situation.

The are some guys that have no hope with free throw shooting (Shaq/Ben Wallace) but there are some guys that its mostly mental or bad mechanics.
