Nice write up.

The talking heads this morning were saying how it (the game) was all-wrong. They were discussing what's all wrong with the system - specifically pitchers and the impact on their respective teams. It was their opinion that more pitchers should be included as reserves in case of extra innings. That certain guys had to warm up excessively for them.

This morning they said there should be cap of 12 innings. But these guys likely decried the ending of the game in a tie a few years back. Bozos.

In the 70's and 80's, the starting pitcher would pitch 3 innings, the second pitcher would pitch two or three, and after that guys would get turns. It was commonplace that some pitchers did not play at all.

The managers just need to slow down the use of pitchers at the beginning and and middle of games.

IMO, adding more pitchers just cheapens the game.

I would disagree with a 12 inning cap......the heads are silly.

the opening ceremonies were outstanding, the game itself was played terrible, to many first year allstars that couldnt do anything, the excitement soon faded with the low level of class the yankee fans showed

They - the heads - referred to a quote from the NL manager, I believe, which to the effect of a little league game - we want to win, but also want to make sure that everyone plays.

Low level of class? Wtf are you talking about? If you are speaking to booing redsox players then you need to just shut your mouth because if you expect yankee fans to not boo red sox nation and vice versa then you no nothing about baseball anyway.

I bet the players wouldn't have it any other way either.

Uggla had a bad game. In fact, a nightmarish Steve Sax moment.

The game offered everything that you would expect it to:

Great pitching
Defense
Timely hitting

Extra innings drama.

I despise both the NY and Boston teams and fans, but their reaction was completely normal for a north eastern crowd. Hell, it adds lots of flavor to any game.

ot but i gotta mention this, im still learning baseball, first time ive ever really watched it. So i'm listening to 1080 espn radio, they say answer some sports questions and win some prize, im like ooohh what the heck. I call in, going against another guy, turns out they asked 2 baseball questions and 1 football

the only bright spot was the pitching,... the defense, lack of timely hitting, and the all star players not being able to do the fundamentals made it look sloppy, there was some good plays on defense, but still a combined 5 errors..it was a great game, dont get me wrong, i loved the excitement of every player being used and what would happen next, im just saying it was a very sloppy and a poor game played by both teams..its just my opinion on the game, it made me think how did half of these guys make the allstar team
