Nickname?

Post#1 » by Loose Cannon » Thu Jul 17, 2008 5:44 pm

This team is due for a nickname now that Brand is aboard. I was thinking Brand New, but that's awful. Brand also needs a new one.

Any ideas?

Here's a crazy (CRAZY) idea. How about we call our team..... the.... Philadelphia.....Seventy......SIXERS! YES!

Jk, but idk, I was never good with coming up with names. I've never heard a team called a nickname unless they were the "Bad Boys" or something like that.

Not so much the team name, but maybe just the duo like Iggy-Brand, etc.

You know, since Washington has the Big Three, Boston has the Big Three, San Antonio has the Big Three...the originality has made me a bit jealous.

Not the best for a team that will be the NBA worst at 3 pointers.

As for players, nothing very original here, but:

2Young1
Mr. Speights ('cause I can't spell his 1st name)
Dr. Dre (an homage to Doc given Iguodala's all around game and dunks.)
The Hatian Sensation
T-Rex (Smith)
G.O.A.T. or the Cookie Monster (Evans)
Louuuuuu
Miller: ? SBD (silent but deadly?)

Speight(s) Train

T-Rex is awesome, almost as good as Hatian Sensation.

The Haitian Sensation is a bundle of joy. That nickname is epic, definitely.

This topic is custom made for Knux, I am sure he will come up with some good stuff. 8-)

No nicknames for Brand. If anyone makes up a nickname for him it should be an automatic ban. He doesn't have a nickname and never will. He's just Elton Brand. Any nickname for him will be pathetically lame, not witty, unfunny, and extremely forced.

Team or individual nicknames are better when they happen organically, its tough to force them.

I really can't wait for the adventures of T-rex and No-Neck
They say an analytics man doesn't have a heart, but I ran the numbers and nothing can be further from the truth - Sam Hinkie probably

Name given by Knux because his arms are so short.

is that really smith's reach. less than 2 feet higher than his height. My reach is over 2 feet my height so i have longer arms than jason smith thats ridiculously sad and hilarious at the same time.

Having a long head and neck is just as much a factor as short arms.

Smith's wingspan is nearly the same as his height, so his arms are not the only issue. Maybe we should start calling him Beaker?

Knux sorry if I don't have your level of proficiency when it comes to the nicknames...It takes years of honing your craft to be a legend...

Return to Philadelphia 76ers
