Thanks a lot Memphis....

Apparently, and this is coming from the Indystar article today with regards to Tinsley being traded. Bird made two quotes:

1. That there are 10-12 teams with a significant need for a PG, meaning either starter or top reserve.

2. That Memphis putting their PG's on the market, specifically Lowry and Crittendon are the reason why the market for Tinsley has stalemated.

So there is a strong possibility that Tinsley will be traded.

Edit: David Morney has been talking to Tinsley or his agents weekly and it's also quoted that Tinsley has passed all physical examinations and has lost weight.

It is great to hear Tinsley has lost weight. He would have been "hard to move" if he had not.

Alright, good chuckle, but let's stick to the topic at hand here.

That's because he loves the Old Country Buffet!

Why don't we make a deal with the Grizzles and get those 2 players then corner the market on pg's like the Duke brothers did the market for Frozen Concentrated Orange Juice, in that old movie Trading Places. :D

If jamaal doesn't watch out he could end up like this.

I dont see why we are having such a big problem unloading Tinsley. Really, all we have to do is approach Jamaal calmly, and say, "Listen up you pumpkin pie haircutted freak, either you accept a buyout worth 5% of your contract, or we call the Feds and clue them into your marijuana fields and illegal arsenal of AK-47s. Up to you pal."

LOL

In all seriousness, i think Larry Bird believes he can get some value for him. I mean, not say the Milwaukee deal is true, but if thats anywhere near the deal we can get for him, we are ripping the Bucks off.

The Bucks just signed Ty Lue so their interest has probably been eliminated.

At this point, I'd be ecstatic if two things didn't happen while moving Jamaal Tinsley.

1) We didn't have to buy him out and could actually trade him
2) That we don't take back an even worse contract than Jamaal's (Boris Diaw, I'm looking at you!!)

Those are the only two things I'm hoping for. Gadzuric? Jeffries? James? All fine with me.

I get the feeling that no one is willing to take on Jamaal for a couple reasons.

1. The chances he is not able to play even most of each season.
2. Why take on his contract when it has been made clear we really do not want him? Why not just wait till he ends up bought out?

I'm starting to think that Birds public comments are a reason we have not gotten rid of him yet. I feel that his comments shoved Jamaal's value down even more while also giving off the impression that he ends up bought out and thus able to be signed for quite cheap compared to his current salary.

I don't think Tinsley would have been any easier to trade even if Bird and O'Brien didn't make any comments about Tinsley not being back with the team next year.

I agree with Scoot, Tinsley is tough to move for a lot of reasons, but Birds comments are not one of them. I think when push comes to shove though there will be someone willing to give Jamal a shot. I mean think about the PG's in the league, if you don't have Davis, Billups, Nash, Williams, Paul, Ford, Felton, Mo Williams, Harris, Terry, or Parker the odds are you could use a PG for your team. If you think Jamal can stay under control with a change of scenery you might have a bargain.

I think you could take Felton, Terry, and possibly Mo Williams out of that discussion there, as Terry and Felton seem to be better 2 guards, and Mo Williams is apparently not greatly desired by the new coaching staff in Milwaukee.

Maybe add Rose to that list though.

Birds comments may or may not have had an effect on JTs value. On the other end of the stick, it is quite hard to believe that there are not GMs that are simply waiting for us to buy him out knowing that the chances of that occuring are more than likely quite good and maybe even better than our chances of dealing him.

I dont think they are really waiting for us to buy him out. To my knowledge, this organization has never bought out a player and a buyout of Tinsley with the 3 years and $21 million left on his contract would be a real tough pill for a small market team to swallow. Besides, there is no guarantee that any team that does have interest in him could get him if he were bought out. The price and risk plummet if he is a free agent making a low salary, so you can bet a number of different teams would be interested in him then. Point guard is at a premium right now. If he were bought out, I can see where 10+ teams would take a look at him.

I think Tinsley has more value around the league than what we thing. Yes, Tinsley is garbage here and everyone wants him gone, and rightfully so. But I believe there are teams out there that would like to give him a chance if the price is right. Hopefully Bird can get some tangible value for Jamal.
