I apologize if this is too far off topic for the moderators. But, I wanted to ask if anyone else is excited about going to see TDK tomorrow. I am.

I was saying, "Batman: Gotham Knight," will bridge together the films: Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. In other words, it's a marketing ploy... Hence, it got a direct to DVD release. Whatever. If you're a fan of Batman, it wouldn't hurt to watch it. I'll watch the former again and watch this new lead-in release as well. So, I'll be prepped for tomorrow...

I wanted to wear my Batman t-shirt but it's likely I threw it out years ago. I wore it when I saw Burton's first Batman, I believe. So, I'm just going to go plain cloths.

If your are talking about Batman I can't wait. Watched the batman begins for the 400x last night on TBS. Great movie. This one is going to be even better.

I can't wait to see it. Unfortunately, I don't think it's being released in Japan until December ... Hell, Iron Man is just coming out here.

What do you do in Japan? Are you a student or something else. I have to get there. I jsut love the whole Japanese culture. The way the people work and how they are really free to make their own decisions even if they are not agreed with by the old generations.

It is not Japan but I will be teaching statistics at a uni in China next year. I am pretty stoked. I was going to teach English but once a few year universities saw my resume, they offered a position teaching statistics in English. I have settled on a school in Tianjin and I will fly over in January 2009. I plan on doing a good bit of traveling when I am there.

I caught the midnight show last night, and I thought it was great. A few notes:

- Heath Ledger deserves every bit of praise for his role as the Joker. I thought that people may have been hyping his performance a bit too much due to the fact that he passed away, but that isn't the case. He does a better job as the Joker than Jack Nicholson did. I wouldn't be surprised if he got nominated for an Oscar.
- the movie is long. Make sure you take a nap before catching this movie.
- even though the movie is long, the overall story was great.
- Maggie Gylenhall is gross. Couldn't they come up with better eye candy?
- Aaron Eckhart does a good job as Harvey Dent.
- Batman's got some neat toys in this movie
- Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine both were great in their roles.
- Christian Bale has been my favorite as Batman. I always thought that Michael Keaton looked too much like a middle-aged dad to be playing a millionaire playboy/superhero. George Clooney was terrible as he wasn't mysterious enough. Val Kilmer could have been better than Bale, but he only signed on for one movie.

That is pretty cool. And you picked up chinese how exactly?

Enjoy yourself traveling. I have traveled a good portion of the world. My one piece of advice always look out for yourself. Don't get cocky and put yourslef in bad situations.

I havent seen The Dark Knight yet but Batman: Gotham Knight is worth checking out. It's divided into something like 6-7 stories, all done by different anime directors with completely different styles.

You guys should get Visa signature credit card. My card gave me free tix, drinks and popcorn to the advance screening at 7pm last night, before the midnight showing. I'm sure they'll have more of these...

I teach English in a small city, tucked away in the mountains. I am in charge of 4 other foreign teachers and we have about 5,000 students that we work with.

Japan is great. My speaking ability is slowly improving, but everyone here is very friendly and tries to help the big foreign goofball looking for the chocolate-covered shrimp crackers (that would be me. :-?

)

One of the few bad things about living here is the doors. Most of them are only about 6 feet tall. I'm 6'6".

Yeah, I brain myself on a daily basis.

Bold 1: That Might be because you saw the movie at 12. :lol:

Bold 2: Usually she is not bad, but in this movie she looked more like Jake Gyllenhall.

Everything else I agree with.

This movie was AWESOME!

I saw TDK and liked it better than BB. I'm not going to write that one actor is better than the other in the roles of Batman and The Joker. I mean those are two different films. I like Burton's take... And Nolan's take... As for TDK, I enjoyed both Ledger and Eckhart in their respective roles. Bale was Bale... Solid. But, his voice as Batman does become annoying sometimes in both Nolan films. Like Burton's Batman, Ledger takes the cake and upstages everyone else for his performance as The Joker like Nicholson before him. He was brilliant. Furthermore, to me, it seem like they tried to tell more in the second film than the first film laying the groundwork for future sequels, if Nolan sticks with the franchise.

About the BGK, I thought this was an okay collection of six short films (accept for the first one) that related more to BB than TDK. If anything, it introduces you to the character of Ramirez who does appear in TDK. In my opinion, this could've been a bonus disc for the DVD of BB and didn't necessarily need to be released in the same year and month as TDK. That wasn't a coincidence.

My favorite Batman films are... Batman (1966), Batman (1989), Batman Returns, Batman Begins and now The Dark Knight. My favorite villains from the Batman comics are The Joker and Scarecrow. Overall, I didn't like Scarecrow in either Nolan films. Murphy was fine... I just think he [Scarecrow] deserves his own top billing in a film. He's a super villain like The Joker. So, treat him as such.
