I like what I hear it didnt seem as though Jack was very happy. It also stinks that Rasho wasn't there.

Just because they click on this thread doesn't mean they've watched the press conference.
As for the new guys in particular. I'm getting a little excited to get Baston back with the new offensive style. I think he'll surprise and chew up some solid minutes at PF for us. I think McRoberts will mostly be kept in Ft. Wayne, but will be given a few chances to show what he can do, and that essentially this year will be a tryout and time to grow for a new contract for the next 2 years, kind of like a Stephen Graham contract.
Ford, I've already been excited about. I'm a little worried and always will when I see him drive to the hoop with reckless abandon as it could always be his last time standing, but I guess if he's ok with it, I can deal with it as well.

I don't see McBob as much more than a D Leaguer either. He hasn't shown me he can succeed in the ACC let alone in the NBA.
I don't see Baston getting solid minutes either, unless their is a major injury. I did like when Baston was with us last time. He was very professional, which I loved. He was always out working on his game an hour before the game when a lot of guys were in the locker room. Maceo had great chemistry with Sarunas from their Tel Aviv days together. It was fun to watch those two together. Maceo is an ideal 12th man in that he is a big that can run. I am happy to have him back on the team, but I do not expect consistent minutes.
Ford and Jack will be a godsend for this team as well. I can't remember when the Pacers have had a better 1, 2 punch at PG. We got infinetly better at PG this offseason.

Rasho is in Athens playing for the Slovenian National Team this week trying to earn one of the last 3 spots for the Olympics. He made this commitment last year.

Baston isn't a guy I'd get excited about. He wont give you more than a few alley-oops in garbage time. But you never know, the guy can contribute when he gets the minuts.

Remember, Baston was a Pacer before he went to Toronto, so I think most have a good idea of what he will bring. He has always brought good effort and was a solid bench guy. I don't expect a lot on the court from him, but he is great as the 12th, 13th or 14th man.

Baston got a raw deal the last trip. he earned more time than Rick gave him. coaches can be stubborn.
Graham got a bit of a raw deal last year too as he outplayed Shawne consistently.

Baston was a Raptor before he was a Pacer before he was a Raptor

When Baston played here before joining Toronto, i really liked what he brought to the team. He was a solid role player and a high energy guy. Each time he entered the game, he made something happen or made the opponent be more aware. He's a perfect player for garbage time with potential of being a late bloomer, but, i think we're in need for garbage time players. If he plays the same way he did when he last played for us, i'd be very happy.... if he does better because of the offensive system, that would be a huge plus for us.

Jack is a great guy, something you guys need. He is also a leader, solid shooter and defender, and a great penetrator off the dribble -- he will be good for your team as you guys change your culture.
McBoberts never showed me much (he never really played), but he is young and has potential...so who knows.

Re: Ford, Baston, Jack, McBob Press Conference
I think that Ford/Jack could make for a really nice tandem at pg.
Rasho is a big center who can score a bit...never hurts to have one of those. I honestly think that there's a chance he could be with the Pacers for more than one season, if he can be brought back at a more reasonable salary level. But probably that would mean parting with Foster, which I'm not at all sure that I would want to see.
Baston is a pretty good end-of-the-bench guy--he works hard, stays out of trouble, doesn't cost much, and can hold his own in spot minutes on the court.
And I'm a bit intrigued by McRoberts, if it's really true that Duke was forced to play him out of position at center due to lack of low-post players (I honestly don't remember much about McRoberts' time at Duke). Could be that McRoberts is a McDonald's MVP/high school player of the year who just hasn't gotten an optimal chance to show what he can do at higher levels...hmm, kinda interesting, more interesting than anyone we could have got with our second-round pick if we had kept it. In fact, I'm considering McRoberts as basically this year's second-round pick that we got after all our wheeler-dealering.

Rasho was beasting at the end of last year, he's a vet doesn't complain about minutes hustles hard, good rebounder good defender
Andrea Bustani speaks the truth, never slurps every move the raptors make.
Andrea Bargnani 08-09 stats - 7 points 2 boards on 39% shooting
Jose CONderon 08-09 stats - won't be as good as TJ 5 star General Ford

Am I the only one that thinks Baston will play a good role this year? I expect he will be our backup PF and he will fit in so much better with Obie's offense than he ever did in Rick's offense. I'm excited to see what he can bring. This of course is if we don't get another PF.
