The "What IC would do" mock

Post#1 » by Icness » Wed Apr 25, 2007 12:43 pm

Since it's significantly different than my actual mock and I keep getting lots of inquiries about my opinion, here's a "what I would do" mock. This more closely reflects my personal opinion of players. It also reflects my general draft philosophy, which is to identify your top 3 needs and choose the best player available that fits one of those needs with your 1st and 2nd picks. This assumes zero trades, everyone is keeping their picks.

Oakland--Joe Thomas
Detroit--Calvin Johnson
Cleveland--Adrian Peterson
Tampa Bay--Gaines Adams
Arizona--Amobi Okoye
Washington--Laron Landry
Minnesota--Brady Quinn
Atlanta--Adam Carriker
Miami--Jamarcus Russell
Houston--Leon Hall
San Francisco--Ted Ginn Jr.
Buffalo--Patrick Willis
St. Louis--Darrelle Revis
Carolina--Greg Olsen
Pittsburgh--Joe Staley
Green Bay--Brandon Meriweather
Jacksonville--Michael Griffin
Cincinnati--Justin Harrell
Tennessee--Dwayne Bowe
NY Giants--Levi Brown
Denver--Jamaal Anderson
Dallas--Anthony Spencer
Kansas City--Ben Grubbs
New England--Marcus McCauley
NY Jets--Paul Posluszny
Philadelphia--Brian Leonard
New Orleans--Aaron Ross
New England--Reggie Nelson
Baltimore--Justin Blalock
San Diego--Steve Smith
Chicago--Lawrence Timmons
Indianapolis--Marshawn Lynch

My real mock will be done after I talk to a couple of people later today, hopefully will get posted tonight, or Thurs. morning at the latest.

Ice, don't mean to bust your ass, but any news who Savage is leaning towards taking at #3? I've had the feeling that we would be 50/50 on Quinn/Peterson (which I remember you posting as well - but u did mention the good chance we may take Quinn over Peterson) yet the national media is just now on the Quinn to-Browns train of thought. Have u heard any new rumblings on who the Browns have higher on their board?

I like the pats gettin Reggie Nelson, but why is Meriweather and Griffin picked before him? He's better than them.

DT is not even a day 1 need for the Cardinals.

Clancy and Dockett did a solid job for us last year..and we still have Gabe Watson, who's shown some improvement. Johnathan Lewis also backs him up..

Here are the Cardinals needs in order...

LT, OLB, DE, S/CB

If you're going with best available talent at 5, you would give us LaRon Landry.

Why should Vikes take Quinn when they took a QB last year that they're happy with?
