It is not a waste a pick at all. The second round is all about finding gems that fall for one reason or another. If you think you have a gem, you grab it. You don't worry about when they are coming over if they are a second round pick.

Yeah, but those gems, if they never come over, are USELESS. I'd much rather have a guy that can give me some production as a rotation player than a guy thats a "stud" overseas, and stays there. So many teams have been in this postion lately, Magic, Spurs, now Suns. His contract is up in 1 more year, I misunderstood. But it seems he's more likely to stay there because we were paying for practically the whole buyout (under the table), and he declined, which means he didn't want to play here. Probably getting payed like 3 times as much there..

The underappreciated greats:

Some seek fame cause they need validation, some say hating is confused admiration - Nasty, nasty Nas

How did you come to a conclusion that he declined even though the FO was paying for the whole buyout? And that he didn't want to play here? Read my two posts above, Dragic is just playing it smart and knows if he stays one more season in Europe, he will come to the NBA next season better prepared and more experienced, so he won't be the 12th player or something. He doesn't just want to be in the NBA, he wants to play in the NBA.
