I agree. The quartet still has the goods to win, but imho NOT all-the-way. Without Ben Wallace, they became wannabes. Is there a way to bring back Wallace for one last pitch?

With Benny Boy's new salary, he's not the answer.

Ben Wallace sucks now he's the last guy they need. Unless they can use a time machine and get Wallace of 5 years ago.

Prince is more interested in still being able to hang out with his buddies during the season.

If we can't get a good deal, I would say just tweak it. We were a top 3 team in the NBA this year, unless you can get a significant talent upgrade, I'm all for staying pat.

I don't mean to offend, but the whole "we've never been the same without Big Ben" hypothesis is oversimplistic and just plain inaccurate as an explanation for our failure to get back up to the top, and suggests that you (understandably) haven't paid much attention to whats actually happening with the Pistons.

If Curry can restore the aggressiveness on both ends, especially defense, they have a chance for a title this coming year with this current cast of characters and a decent back-up 3 added (like Bonzi Wells). Many on the Pistons board disagree with me, but I think it is possible. ALso, if Boston can't fill its glaring backup 3 problem with the departure of Posey, they will suffer for it.

This would be great news for Boston, Cleveland, Orlando, Philadelphia, and Toronto. One less team to worry about.

Actually they would be better if we made a trade. As of right now, were still better then all of those teams sans Boston.

The Pistons haven't been the same since Ben Wallace left, but Ben Wallace hasn't been the same since he left the Pistons.(In fact, he was already on a sharp decline before he left.)

\There are few trades possible that the Piston's can make to improve their team. If you're a bottom-feeder type team, you can envision 100s of different trades that would make you better, with the Pistons it doesn't work that way. Maybe the problem with the Pistons will turn out to have been Flip Saunders not being able to motivate players and not an issue with the roster.

I personally think that if the Celtics meet the Pistons again, the result will be the same because Pierce was a big matchup problem for Prince. This is the one whole that I see in the Piston's armor that I think teams can exploit if they have the right personnel. Strong, physical small forwards, like LeBron and Pierce give Prince trouble.

Pierce is also more than capable of stopping Prince from scoring on the other end. Prince averaged just 9.8 points in the ECF on terrible 32.4% shooting.

If the Pistons had made it to the Finals, they'd probably be champions right now, but they have a matchup problem with their two biggest Eastern Rivals.

Better to stand pat, than make a stupid deal. I would love for Dumars to be able to pillage some team, but it doesn't work like that *glares at the Lakers* most of the time anyway. As it stands right now the Pistons are still a top 5 team in this league, unless a trade makes them better there's no sense in doing it.

IMO Detroit hasnt seriously looked like threatening for the title in about three seasons.
Having said that, of all the teams that are close, except probably NO, Detroit has a lot of depth with good young guys on their bench, I'm not convinced that putting a trade in to fill a need and give the young guys more time on the court would be a bad thing.
